Chapter 13: Extirpate

-A cold, maniac laughter filled the darkened end of the corridor in front of the lone nin and samurai. A chill ran down the pair's spines as they heard the crunching of sand beneath heavy boots.- "You truly are the most amusing one so far but, also the stupidest!" -Black boots came into view as the stranger had stepped into the light. A sharp gasp was heard from Nya as she caught sight of the man before her. There in all of his glory, stood a splitting image of her dear brother who was clutching her tightly to his chest. The only thing that she could tell he was not her older sibling was those crimson red irises that seemed to be glaring down at her with a ferocity like none other she had ever met before.-
"Look at you, why if you don't shut that mouth girly I might just find a use for it..." The man drawled on.
With her lip quivering slightly Nya managed to ask just who this man was.
"W-who are you? What do you w-want?" She gripped Kai's gi tightly until her knuckles turned white when the stranger before her smirked darkly and took a step forward.- "My name is Iak, I am the darkness of night and the haunting shadows under grown men's eyes." He let loose a chortle of unpleasant laughter and took yet another step forward, this time it was Kai who held Nya fast.- "Do NOT take another step closer! I'm warning you! You stay away from us!" - It was then when Iak had taken yet another step forward with a sickening smile, that Kai had stood and stepped in front of his little sister. Her protests of his act of protection were short lived as Iak begun to walk toward them both.- "Don't take another step closer you BASTARD!" -Seeing as Iak was not stopping Kai spun around and grabbed Nya's arms in his hands and told her to leave with the others.- "Nya, honey listen to me, I want you to go and find the others and leave, run away as far as you all can." Nya was distraught how could she leave without her brother?
"What? What about you? I'M NOT LEAVING YOU HERE!" Frustrated Kai had exploded back. "AND I'M NOT LETTING YOU STAY HERE WITH ME AND DIE IN VAIN!" Filled with anguish he continued, "I can't lose someone else...you're all I've got Nya..first it was mom and dad..I just can't lose you..." -With eyes as wide as saucers Nya threw her arms around his shoulders and with one final misty eyed glance she ran. Down the corridor her footsteps echoed, just like his heart did in his ears. His glance hardened into a glare as he turned around to face the red eyed man ahead of him. With one last look back at his beloved sisters retreating shadow he raised his fists and got into the best fighting stance he could muster.-
"Come on you son of a bitch, lets go for a ride.."
