OLD CHAPTER #13

"Hey, are you ready for movie night?" Calum asks exitedly. It doesn't surprise me that he just enters my apartment randomly at this point. He stopped knocking after about a month of our friendship. We got close pretty quick, we just clicked. I smile at my chirpy friend, admiring the dimples that appear on his face as he grins. He seems to be in an unusually happy mood, but I brush it off.

"I was born ready, Hood."

He sits beside me on the sofa, as I grab the remote to find something on Netflix, "What are you feeling? Action? Horror? Comedy?" He surprised me by taking the remote, and choosing the genre he has always claimed to loathe. "Cal, you do know that's a romantic movie, right?"

He leans back as it begins with a smirk on his face, "I know."

I felt his arm wrap around me, as it begins playing. A bowl of popcorn resting in my lap. Usually I'm okay with this, but it all feels a bit different. Is there a reason he suddenly picked something romantic? I look at Calum to see he's actually watching the movie, and paying attention to what's going on. I look back at the screen, and just try to pay attention to what's happening.

About half way through the movie I sometimes notice him looking at me with a small smile. I try my best to act like I don't notice, and just pay attention to Heath Ledger. After a while I just couldn't think about anything else other than Calum's peculiar behavior. I pause the movie, and look over at him to see he looked quite confused.

"Uh, why did you stop it?"

I sigh, "I'm just confused."

He then goes on to explaining the plot of the film we were watching before I hit him in the arm, "Not about the movie, dumbass."

"Then what?"

I roll my eyes, "You!"

He chuckles, "What about me?"

"You're not acting like yourself! You're even happier than normal which I didn't think is possible, and you're watching a fucking chick flick with me! You hate romantic movies!" I exclaim.

He just shakes his head, "Can't I just want to try something new?"

I try to think of all the possible outcomes in my head, but none seem to add up. Unless...

"Calum, is there a girl you're not telling me about?"

He looks taken back by my question, and he doesn't answer. I pivot to face him better, resting a hand on his knee.

"Calum, you know you can tell me anything."

He sighs before admitting, "Yeah. There is a girl..."

I smile at my friend, ignoring the discomfort in my chest at his words. It wasn't a big secret that I liked Calum. The only people who weren't aware were Luke, and Calum himself. I guess they're just really oblivious.

"Tell me about her," I order passively. I smile, taking his hand. It seems to be a habit of mine to fidget, and when Calum is close by, it's always me playing with his fingers. His eyes light up at the opportunity to talk about his love, the biggest smile appearing on his face. The biggest one I've seen him wear, actually.

"She's really funny, and she'll always laugh at my jokes no matter how bad they are. She has impeccable taste in music, and I'm not just saying that because we like the same bands. She doesn't just do things she wants when we hang out, she sacrifices so we can do stuff I like too..."

He seems really happy with this girl, and as much as it hurts, I'm happy he's happy. I quickly wipe my watery eyes, before smiling at the boy, "I'm happy, you're happy."

His mood drops a bit, "That's the thing, I'm not happy."

"Why not?" I ask softly, rubbing the back of his hand with my thumb.

"She doesn't know, and if she did I could ruin everything. I don't want to ruin years of friendship because I lo- like her... She wouldn't feel the same anyway."

His response baffles me. He has a friend I don't know about? Did he almost say love? I shake the thoughts away, focusing on the distraut boy.

"Cal, if she doesn't like you, she's missing out. I'm saying this sincerely. She's missing out on the kindest, funniest, most caring, att-"

He cuts me off in the least expected way I could have possibly guessed, with his lips. I'm frozen in shock, mostly in disbelief he was talking about me the whole time. He pulls away looking dissapointed, something he definitley wouldn't be feeling if he knew that he has been my 11:11 wish since the day we met.

A smile appears on my face, my mind fully catching up to my body. Calum is sputtering apologies like white noise for my thoughts. I giggle, shifting myself to straddle Calum's lap. He completley stops, his breathing audiblly shallow. I let my fingertips trace his jawline, and my eyes carelessly glance at his full lips. He seems to have caught up as well, when I feel his arms slip around my waist and pull me flush against him. I smile in pure bliss, letting my hands weave through Calum's dark hair. Calum has snuck his hands underneath the fabric of my shirt, gently tracing my lower back with his fingertips.

"You have this habit of cutting me off, and it is really annoying." I state clearly fond. I'm just waiting for him to speak, eager to reciprocate the breif act of affection he showed me.

"Well-"

I press my lips to his, and I feel him smile into the kiss, noticing exactly what I did. My body is on fire as he lifts a hand to my jaw, and tilts his head to deepen the kiss. His lips slot between mine slowly, his full lips caressing my lower one. I can't help but grin into his lips, this is so surreal and I couldn't be happier in this moment in time. I giggle as he pulls away, lighting sucking my lower lip as he does. His whole persona is immidatley adorably bubbly once again, the only weight on his shoulders being my arms.

"I don't know what you're talking about, that was the complete opposite of annoying." He states dazed. I chuckle cause I know he knows exactly what I mean. I shake my head, my thumb running along the edge of his mouth. I lean in once more, capturing his lips again.

"Holy shit."

I break away, and look behind me to see a confused Luke, a smirking Michael, and a smiling Ashton. Michael and Ashton high five, as Luke gives them an odd look.

"Since when did friends start making out on couches!?"

Michael hits him over the head before muttering, "They don't, idiot."

"Then that means..."

Ashton smiles proudly at the situation, "Yep."

"Let's go play Mario," Michael says. All the boys head to my room where I keep my game counsle. They all leave to fight over Mario, where Luke always ends up as Luigi, to Mike's satisfaction. Ash always pulls out his phone because it could take them an hour for Mike to say next time, and Luke to agree though they both know there will always be a next time. This is why Ash is glad he gets Princess Peach, cause Calum likes Toad and I like Yoshi.

Mike walks back in the room, putting their routine fight on hold I look at him oddly before he takes a silver packet out of his pocket, and tosses it to me. A condom?

"Mikey, why do you carry around condoms?" Calum asks.

"Just in case."

I giggle, "Just in case of what?"

This makes him pout, "Awe, sorry Mikey."

He waves it off, "Have fun kids."

Calum yells, "Thanks!" Then quickly attaches his lips to mine yet again. I giggle into the kiss, amused at how eager he is. Hell, I can feel his hard-on. I pull away panting, "Are we just going to ignore the boys in the other room?"

Calum smiles, "Yep."

I just nod, "Good with me..."
