Regret

The things that I had done
The person that I've been
My back had always ached
From the weight of all my sins

I apologised for all
The words that I have said
I tried so very hard
But I could never forget

What I want for you
All I want to do
I'm trying to erase the past
And finally move on

Whenever I remember how
You looked at me
on that one fateful day

I kept on looking forward and
Was hoping that
somehow I could find a way

But looking all around me,
I can see the whole world
fading into grey

And it tears me apart
I hoped I could restart but

All the guilt I feel is crawling
On my back as I
Drown in my own shame

Every breath a whisper as
I tried to shout and to
call on your name

Telling you I'm sorry for the
Way I was, so give
me all the blame

Yet you still forgave me,
tried to chase my worries

But I still couldn't
stop saying that
I'm sorry
