A/N: Hello everyone! This is my first time doing a fanfic and a story on Wattpad. Hope you enjoy reading this as much as reading the Summoner Trilogy books.
The setting sun and a little breeze always made Taidan happy. After a day's worth of working on a farm he enjoyed the scenery. Working in the fields helped him gain a little muscle over the spring and summer months. He also enjoyed working with the Barson family, they were close family friends and were kind enough to offer him a job here. He started to feel nauseous after staying in the stuffy herb shop that his Grandmother owned. As he finished the day's work he heard his good friend, Johnny, call him.
"Taidan! Can you help me out here?"
"Sure! Is it the horses again?" Taidan asked.
"Yup, you know I'm bad with animals. I cannot believe my Dad left me in charge of them. Why can't my brothers do it?" Johnny complained, leading a big shire horse to the stables.
"Your Dad wants you to get over your fear of animals and to "man up." Whatever that means." Taidan smirked, grabbing the horse's reins.
"Shut up, I have plenty of manly traits. And not all of us can be tall and handsome like you." Johnny jested, earning a laugh from Taidan. They walked over to the stables to get the horse unstrapped from the harness.
"I am not that tall, only an inch taller than you." He shrugged, earning a look from Johnny.
The stables were near the wooden two story farm house where Johnny's family lived. It housed his father and mother, two older brothers, and his baby sister.
The stables held three horses. Lightning, Lilly, and Little. Ironically Little is the biggest and oldest out of the three of them, since being a shire horse. Lighting is a black mustang and Lilly a brown mustang.
"Can you hold Little steady while I unstrap him ?" Johnny said, undoing the plowing harness.
"Hey boys!" Boomed a voice.
Johnny's father, Bruce walked in. Bruce was a tall man with wide shoulders and thick arms and legs. He had brow eyes like all his children, dark brown hair, and a chiseled beard. Johnny and his brother, Ian looked like their father the most.
"Taidan, after you help out Johnny you're free to go. Here is your wages for the week. You will need it if you want to get good stuff from the peddlers." Bruce said, handing Taidan a pouch of silver shillings.
"Thanks Bruce, I'll tell Granny to save some citrus tea for ya." Taidan said, as he finished untying the plow attached to Little. "Okay, I'll see you later Johnny. Say bye to your sister for me." Taidan walked out the stables, waving goodbye to Johnny and his father.
The walk from the farm to the herb shop was a long one, at least a half hour away. Like all the farms, the Barson's farm was located on the east outskirts of Hartford.
Hartford is an average size city that consist of farms, the west coastline harbors, small shops, and a mansion where a wealthy businessman lives. The herb shop was located on one of the main streets leading to the town plaza. In terms of location it had the best view of the crowds since it was uphill and could see the Castorfill mansion from the second story.
The Castorfill mansion is where a wealthy businessman, Jax Castorfill and his family lives, as well as Castorfill Emporium.
During the fourteen years after the Second Orc War, where the albino Orc and his black dragon were killed by a Fletcher Raleigh: the renowned hero. The Hominum Empire experienced a boom in birthrates, doubling the population. The Dwarves also experienced a boom in population, since the one child policy was abolished when Old King Alfric died.
