A Happy Family - Liam and Steffy Spencer

Chapter TWELVE

With Liam at Spencer Publications with Hope 

Liam and Hope were in his office at Spencer Publications discussing their wedding that they had yet to set to. At least that's what Hope thought they were doing. Liam, as always these days had his mind set on something else.

Now Hope was regretting postponing it for the sake of the HFTF collection. If she hadn't, the two of them would be husband and wife now, no matter what Steffy came up with to separate them. Why she listened to Wyatt then she didn't know! It seemed like she had learned nothing from the past, prioritizing her line over Liam and their wedding. And now she was paying the price again because Steffy had taken advantage of the situation, again.

Their one-sided conversation was interrupted by Liam's phone coming to life. He looked at the id strangely, not recognizing number and hesitated a moment before answering it with dread.

Thomas: Liam

Liam: Thomas?

Hope looked up at hearing who was calling her fiancé.

Thomas: Where are you?

Liam: Um, at the office. Why?

Thomas:  I'm on my way to get you. Meet me at the parking lot in five minutes, it's important.

Liam stared at the phone once again, completely lost on what just happened. That was the most enigmatic phone call he had ever received.

As for Hope, she waited patiently for him to explain what Thomas wanted. When nothing came, she took it upon herself to make him talk. 

Hope: Well? What was that about?

Liam: I don't know. He wants me to meet him at the parking lot.

Hope: Why? 

Liam: Your guess is as good as mine.

 With that, he got up and prepared to leave the building. Hope got up too. 

Hope: Wait a minute, you're actually going?

He stopped just enough to look at her as if she had asked the stupidest question ever. 

Liam: Well, yeah. He said it's important so, it must be about the baby.

But Hope wasn't about to let him go to Steffy without her and she was sure that's why Thomas had asked for him. He didn't object (even if he had she would have gone anyway) and so she fell into steps besides him.

The two of them had to wait only a minute before Thomas' car came up beside them. He rolled the window to the passenger seat down and waited impatiently. 

Thomas: Well, hop in! We don't have time.

Liam seemed to come out of his trance and went to open the door of the car. Hope made to go to the backseat but was stopped.

Thomas: Not you!

Hope: The hell I'm not. Liam is my fiancé and if he's going to see Steffy I'm concerned too!

Thomas: No Hope, it doesn't in any way, shape and form concern you!

He turned to address Liam this time. 

Thomas: Steffy is in labor. Once again, you don't necessarily have to be there but she insisted. Now, it's your choice: either you come alone or you don't come at all!

Liam: I think you should seat this one out, Hope.

Hope: What, there is no way I'm letting you go there alone!

Liam: Hope. This is my baby's birth and missing it is not an option! I already missed enough as it is and I want it to go well. I'm not sure you being there is going to be good for Steffy. 

He could see the indignation on her face but this had to be done. 

Liam: Go home, I'll call you later.

With a kiss to the cheek, he got into the car and he and Thomas drove off, leaving Hope standing alone in the parking lot.

If those two and Steffy thought they could keep her aside, then they had another thing coming. She took out her phone and made a call. It was time to get things stray with Steffy and her little family.
