He’s got to be joking, right? Nervously I looked around the room; my eyes caught the large numbers on my alarm-clock, 7:45 pm, the classes started at 8 pm.

“Shit!” I gasped and jumped out of my bed, making Erik fall, hitting the floor with a loud thud.

“What the…” Erik groaned surprised.

“We’re going to be late if we don’t hurry!” I said pulling my t-shirt over my head, throwing the t-shirt on my bed, I was happy that I had my bra on I quickly grabbed the white shirt and put it on. Buttoning it quickly I watched Erik get up from the floor. He pursed his lips, frowning he strode over to me. He put his hand on my cheek.

“Think about that offer, I think you’ll enjoy it,” he said and smirked. “Hurry up and dress yourself, or I might take you right now.”

My mouth fell open, gaping at him I felt my heartbeat quicken. Trying to compose myself, I picked up my skirt and put it on. I peeked up at him through my lashes; he was watching me intensely.

“Hurry up and get dressed, you’re going to be late,” I said meeting his eyes steadily. He lost his composure and started to laugh hysterically.

“You’re right,” he laughed, holding up his hands, as in defeat.

We made it just in time for the first class. The teacher eyed us irritated but didn’t say anything. All the teachers at Midnight Academy were vampirehunters, so besides teaching different subjects, they taught Erik and me the art of vampire hunting. Our class held the vampires from the A-wing. I glanced around the classroom and admired the vampires; they all were, of course, extremely beautiful. For a mere human, these vampires looked exactly like humans, but with an expert eye, you could see that they were vampires.

The thing that defined vampires were; pitch-black eyes, their pale skin and of course, the fangs, why the eyes were black was a mystery. No one knew why. Maybe it was because their soul had died when they turned.

Lost in thought I gazed out the window, it was a beautiful night, peaceful. The full moon shined bright, creating mystical shadows from the trees. I sighed and closed my eyes, trying to listen to the teacher. I felt myself drifting, God, I was tired! So much had happened the last twenty-four hours.

A pair of strong hands on my shoulders woke me up from my daze.

“Wake up, class has ended, time for practice,” Erik murmured in my ear.

With a jolt I opened my eyes, startled I turned in my chair. Erik’s bright blue eyes met mine; I got up from my chair and stretched my arms.

“Let’s go!” I said taking my bag. I felt his eyes on me but I ignored them. Walking briskly out of the room I pulled my hair back into a ponytail. How was I supposed to give him an answer to his offer? It sure sounded good, but would I end up being hurt since I discovered that I might actually like him, more than a brother.

The practice went well, tonight’s class had been aiming, one of the things in vampire-hunting were I outshined Erik. Dripping with sweat I headed to the showers, I quickly showered and changed back to my uniform. Now it was time for the patrol. When I got out from the shower-room, Erik was standing outside the door, leaning against the wall. His silver hair was dripping wet; it looked almost tidy when it was wet.

“Hey,” he muttered.

“Hi,” I said. “Should I take the A- and B-wing as usual?”

“No, I discussed it with Alistar and we both agreed that it would be safer for you just taking the B-wing,” he said matter-of-factly.

“What? Why?” I gasped. “Did you tell Alistar? You promised you wouldn’t!” Screaming these words, I hit him hard in the stomach.

“I didn’t tell him a thing,” Erik said calmly and caught my other hand that was about to hit him.

“Where the hell is Alistar? Let me go! I need to talk to him,” I shouted.

“He’s gone for the rest of the week, a business trip apparently,” Erik sighed. “The thing is that the nobles tend to walk over to the A-wing sometimes and it’s too dangerous to take the risk with you.”

“Then why is it safe for you?” I said angrily.

“Haven’t you paid attention in the hunter classes? Don’t you know that a virgin’s blood is the purest and also tastes the sweetest?” Erik said raising an eyebrow.

I felt blood rushing to my cheeks, bushing I hid my face and turned away from him. Is it because of that Erik tried to sleep with me last morning.

“Hey, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about, don’t get upset over this Erika,” he murmured and put a hand on my shoulder. I shrugged it off quickly.

“Is that why you tried to sleep with me?” I whispered.

“What did you say?

“Is that why you tried to fuck me? So I wouldn’t be so tasty for the vampires?” I roared.

“Erika…no, I…” Erik stuttered.

“Leave me alone!” I yelled and run off.
