Lifted

I sat in a corner, my leg brought up to my chest.
Tears stained my cheeks, my hair a tousled mess.
Then she came in through the door. Her hair long and shimmering like gold. Her eyes strong like iron rose. She walked to me, leaned down, beside me and whispered words of love into my cold ears. Then she offered me her hand, lifted me up and showed me the world.

Still celebrating Mothers day here's another impromptu poem. Here's for all the kick-ass mothers and all the moms who lift us up when we are down.
