" This is my colleague, Theadore Alexis Matrium. He is your new teacher." My father was looking kind of, confused?
With my most adorable face on I talk normally, "Thank you daddy!" Then I turn to face Theodore, he had rather plain brown hair, and a thin body figure-for a man of this world.
"Mr. Theodor, would you please allow me to lead you to the library's study room?" I asked as politely as I possibly could."O-Of course, thank you." He looked considerably confused, I wonder if my speaking skills were really that bad?
In the Library
Theodore immediately took the position of the professor and stated," Starting with proper introduction is the best way to show respect to seniors and the royal family. For example, I am Theodore Alexis Matrium, the second eldest son of the Matrium household. Currently holding the position of head Mage of the Royal Court."Hmmm? Isn't that basically just boasting your household and position? Oh well! Not waiting for him to teach me the 'proper' structure of the introduction,I go straight into a curtsy,"A pleasure to meet you." Standing back up I continue " I am the Aliria Maylin Charlante, first daughter of Charles Vandrough and Liylianna Marie Charlante."
"Great! So do you know the alphabet yet?" Getting slightly annoyed at his slow speech I speak a sharp yes. Just because my conversational skills were not that great compared to this world does not mean I am stupid. Walking up to the chalkboard he writes down a large A," Can you sound out this letter for me?" I feel my eye twitch.
Walking my to the whiteboard I write down the entire alphabet and its vowels - in cursive might I add - sounding them out at the same time. After I finish I pause and stare right into my 'teacher's' eyes for a good 3 seconds before sitting down.
His ego not broken yet he asks me yet again," Do you know what numbers are?"
Getting pretty pissed off I speak a politely as I possibly can," Yes, I do know how to do read, write and do math."
Completely ignoring what I said he continued on,"Shall I teach you how to add and subtract today?" In a very large font, he wrote out a few equations:
1) 1+1=?
2)2+1=?
3)2+2=?
" Would you like to solve these problems?"
Apparently, I'm going to need to demonstrate everything I can do. Once again walking up to the chalkboard I snatch the chalk piece away from his hands.
Grabbing a random math textbook from the shelves along the way to the board I write out a simple equation from the first page I flip to:
3x²+10x-25=0
I raise my hand to solve the equation, but not before pausing once again to stare into Theodore's annoying eyes.
x=[ -10 ± √10² -(4)(3)(-25)] / 2(3)
I write down my next step just to show him that I know what I am doing, then I solve the rest in my head. Hahh, such a simple question, that is probably why everyone stares at me looking so confused. It's not my fault, it because the library's material is so limited. I'm what is this book anyway,"... Royal Scholar Testing Preparation 5th edition?" Oh wellSeeing that I should probably solve the equation now I read it over at think about it for an entire .5 seconds, while speaking it out loud I write down," x=5/3 or x=-5..." I turn back to Theo and see him still trying to solve it, I mean come on! The maximum time it should take to solve this is around .8 seconds, because this worlds academic standard is very high right? A full minute passed until he finally solved it. I had time to read through 3 three history books that were all as thick a my hand with that kind of time. How is this man even qualified to be my-no, a teacher?
I look up from fourth book to see him smirking at me. How stupid, smirking at a one-and-a-half year old. " Your answer is incorrect. The correct answer is 7.35, because..." he abruptly stops talking and starts scribbling down some more numbers. He opens his mouth once more before closing it again. For the hundredth time, he opens his mouth, but this time... he actually speaks! It can talk! Giving me an arrogant grin he says proudly," The answer is -3."
Inwardly sighing I gently command him," Prove it." He starts blabbering a bunch of false statements, it seems his ego is indestructible? Wanting to know if this man had even a minuscule of use in him I interrupt his 'lecture' to ask," Do you know magic?"
Sounding like a smart person he looks of into space as if remembering something,"Ah, yes, magic. A very wonderful thing yes? However, you are too unskilled to learn magic, you see, skill comes with age as you not skilled which means you are too young..." Seeing as he was just going to continue blabbering his about nonsense, I get up from my char and leave the library, not even sparing Theo a glance.
Barging into my fathers office I start to pout and ask him," Daddy, why is it that my teacher can't teach a single subject?" The chair he was currently sitting in slowly turned around.
Bawling his eyes out he begs me to forgive him," Daddy is sorry! Daddy was confused! I brought the wrong person. I was supposed to bring the Eldest son, but he was busy today! He really is a good teacher though, please forgive me!"
Honestly, I found it quite funny. A grown man with the physical and political power to crush generations of a household, bowing down at his one-and-a-half year old's feet. Pretending to be mad for a few more seconds I make a dramatic sign," I forgive you Papa."
After I say those words he hops right back up to his feet and wiped away his tears."By the way, I have been wanting to introduce you to your older brother."
...I have a older brother? I thought I was a only child...
" Michael had been on a mandatory school event, so he couldn't come see you. However, I have been secretly taking pictures and sending them to him!"
Off to the side I saw his butler sigh, and I guess I kind of agree with him. It's not much of a secret if you tell the person who the secret is about.
