Fearless

Chapter 10

"Why do the fearless get killed if found?" I ask while taking a bite of my turkey sandwich,

"Because they pose a threat on Lancee's president"

"No I mean what threat do they pose?"

"Being fearless means that you can do anything you want without taking any threats; in another words, they can't control you since you aren't fearing anything to the level, why are you asking though?"

"Nothing, just the question popped up in my mind" I say avoiding his eyes,

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Can I have a break now please?"

"No no, not till you finish hitting 25 targets with the gun"

"But I am tired"

"Umm, Okay but what do I get in return?" Ron smirks,

"Nothing you pervert" I say

"Really? Ouch thank you"

"You are totally welcome" I say holding back my smile as I sit down. Ron follows me and wraps his arms around my waist pulling me closer to him, "Jade, I might go on a mission in the next 2 weeks."

"I am coming with you," I say,

"No you aren't going to risk your life especially that you still haven't gotten enough training."

"I don't care, I am not leaving you alone"

"It's just two weeks"

"What is the mission?" I ask,

"We are trying to take down the government of Lancee"

"And you don't want me to come!"

"That's exactly why I don't want you to come"

"But I can't leave you alone"

"You have Sophia and Ava" He states.

"I am coming" I demand

"No you aren't and now the break is over."

"Are you underestimating me?"

"No of course I am not!"

"Oh yes you are, otherwise you would let me come with you."

"I am doing this for your own good,"

"You aren't my father to tell me what to do"

"I am not, but when you aren't responsible for your actions, I have to stop you." he says

With that I get up and leave, once I am at the door I spit the words at him: "Let me show you what this irresponsible girl can do."

Ron walks towards me, "I didn't mean that you are irresponsible"

"Sure" is all what I say and leave. I hear footsteps behind me so I speed up, "Jade we need to talk!" Ron says as he runs behind me and grabs me hand forcing me to stop.

"The talk is over mister" I say and walk away leaving Ron behind.

On my way back home, I spot Sophia and Ava talking together so I stop to greet them,

"Good morning" they both reply in union,

"Do you know where can I sign up for the fearless missions?" I ask

"The what? Don't tell me you are going for that mission!" Ava says

"Yes I am," I say

"But do you know how dangerous it is?" Sophia says

"Yes, but I am not leaving Ron alone" I say

"We are coming with you too then, follow us" Ava says.

I walk with Sophia and Ava to the registration office and we ask for three sign up forms,

"Here you go" Sophia hands me my form once we completed our forms and submitted them, I ask: "So the mission is after 5 days?"

"Yes, come on I am sorry guys, I need to go start preparing myself for it, I'll see you both later?" Ava says

"Yes, and I need to go too, thank you guys" I smile,

"So do I, and on what? don't mention it" Sophia says and we all head to our apartments.

Once I reach my apartment, I find at the door a basket of chocolates and a note stuck to it saying, I am sorry, I shouldn't have said this, It's just I don't want you to risk your life, see you at dinner? I instantly smile and take the chocolates and the note inside and start getting ready for dinner and think, wow that day flew by so fast as soon as I see the clock reading 19:17.
