A quarter-moon shone brightly in the sky, it glowed on the wet gravel path making it look a dim platinum. The natural sounds gave life to the environment and a primitive feel to the forest and the outskirts. Fog began to break visibility on the forest, therefore, not even the best hawk could see a thing.
On the outskirts of the forest, where humans live in; dim lights and voices came from inside the homes and vehicles moved slowly through the streets. Gardens filled with flowers of all kinds; roses, violets, sunflowers... Bushes filled with a few different things, from strawberries to blueberries, it was like a feast of colors- nothing was missing. That garden was attached to a house, which was entered through a sliding glass door. The window was crystal clear, so clean you wouldn't even notice it was there.
Inside the house, four young furry creatures lived with their house folk. Three of these were cats, and one, a dog; which they loved each other more than anything in the world. The youngest among all of them, Jackson, a white tabby tom with dim gray marking but this cat wasn't no ordinary cat; he had a prosthetic leg, a leg made out of stainless steel and with the ability to not rust. This young cat whom had been ran over by a car now was privileged at hunting and still accepted by his family.
Jackson stared quietly at the sliding door that lead to the outdoor garden, he awaited for one of his house folk to open up the door, so he could run outside for a while. Luckily for him, his house folk knew about Jackson's custom to go outside at night to adventure; they usually let him. A person walked to Jackson, opened the door and offered the cat to go outside. Jackson gladly padded off to the garden, though suddenly, a dog and an other cat ran towards him; with urge to go outside. Jackson picked up the pace but the huge dog pinned him to the ground.
The dog was a huge husky with big light blue eyes and his coat was black and it had an abundance of fur. He laughed in amusement and then he got off Jackson. "What ya' up to?" Asked the dog firmly.
Jackson got up, he stared at his brother with annoyance. He rolled his eyes ignoring his question, he didn't feel comfortable when he went to the forest with his brothers at the brink of coming with him. He eventually gazed at his other older brother, Ash, he was a small tabby tom with a pelt mix different grays and his round amber eyes would never stop shinning as long as light shown on him. The cat looked at Jackson with a face of uncertainty.
"Jackson, are you deaf or something? I asked, where are you going?" Continued the big husky, he looked concerned.
Jackson sighed and stared at McKnight, the big defender of the family. He didn't want to tell him or he'd turn over protective on him. "Pfff! Go ask Lucy, she'll tell you everything." Jackson spat angrily at McKnight.
McKnight ignored his behavior, his next words surprised Jackson in such way he couldn't get. "Fine, I will but," He said softly. "if you dare go into the forest I swear, I will punish you so hard!" His soft voice turned into a manecing growl. He told Ash to follow him, they both left the garden and went into the house.
Jackson began to internally laugh at McKnight's actions, normally he'd be smarter, and would leave Ash to take care of him while he went to get Lucy. Lucy was Jackson's sister, a fully white she-cat with shiny green eyes, a sweet and pretty cat she was but she unfortunately couldn't defend herself against anything. Something wasn't right when she was born, she didn't have claws. So many toms have tried to get a paw on her but McKnight always ends up getting over protective with her.
Jackson quickly leaped out of the garden by jumping on the fence and then launching himself off it. When Jackson landed he could still feel the water on the grass from the rain that had come before sundown, he was a few paw-steps away from the forest and not far from the valley either. Suddenly he heard his brothers' voices shouting his name. He knew that if he didn't go now he wouldn't be able explore the forest that night. Jackson thought quickly his next move. If I go explore the forest for a few hours and then come back, I'm pretty sure I can make an excuse to go through McKnight's questioning.
