The five cats scattered aimlessly throughout the bushes and trees in hopes of escaping the monstrosity that followed them. Jackson got a glimpse of Comet plunging herself into an abandoned den, Pinebird had climbed the trees, same with the others. He was the only one on the ground, he knew the bear would eventually catch up, the smell Jackson carried was from the grasslands, a very strong stench that could warn a fox from a mile away.

As he ran he saw a hole under an old birch tree, its root were all turned and twisted and it used to be a fox den from the looks of it. Jackson didn't have much of an other choice, either hide in there or be torn apart by a bear. That'd be a great story to tell to the Loner's Den, "Loner gets murdered by bear inside prohibited EarthClan territory" I can already feel the headlines. He mumbled angrily as he swiftly wiggled inside the tight fox den.

Not too long passed by after he entered, and he could hear the hungry and pissed off bear that scratched the ground with its paws, a bit of dust flew up and it landed on Jackson's face, he couldn't see the bear himself but he was glad, such beast would be perfect nightmare fuel for his wild imagination. As he silently waited for the creature to leave, he heard the sound of Pinebird's voice and an other one, one of the she-cats that accompanied him. He could hear the bear's growl and the sound of yells between the two cats from outside.

"Corner him! We can't face him face-forward, I'll distract him."

"Are you crazy?! Look at that thing! It's massive, there's no way of- " The female voice was cut short, her words suddenly turned into a scream of agony and endless pain. Her screamed didn't stop even though Pinebird's constant yelling for her name.

"Bearflower!!" He repeated over and over again.

Jackson took a curious peek outside, wondering what had happened. What he saw was something he regreted seeing.

The bear held Bearflower in its jaws like living prey; which she was. Pinebird jumped and grappled down on its left front leg. Blood splattered everywhere like if it were confetti, the bear didn't let go for a single second not even to get Pinebird off its leg. Suddenly from the shadows, Comet joined the action by jumping on the bear's back and clawing it. Jackson couldn't bare seeing the scene any longer, he left his fears behind and launched himself out of the den, and as quick as he had gone, he bounced and bite down on the bear's neck and, ultimately, making it bleed out, his prosthetic leg deepened an injury that had been partially healing in the upper level of its leg.

After a long fight, the bear let its grip go, and dropped Bearflower's body on the blood stained grass. The bear then got all the cats off its back and dashed off, vanishing in the shadows of the forest.

Pinebird stood beside the motionless body of the she-cat, it was covered in her own blood. Tears fell down his face as he sat down by her side, he rested his head on her bloody muzzle. He whispered something into her ear, Jackson could hear what he said as he got closer to see them. "Bearflower... why you..? An ironic death for a beautiful cat like you..."

"He's got the right idea, ironic, and horrifying." Comet said with a sigh under her breath.

Jackson quickly shut her up by nudging her angrily, no comments should be said when someone dies in front of you. "Don't say anything, it ain't too nice of you to say that." He hissed, pretty pissed off he was. Lucy -his kittypet sister- had told him to never say an unnecessary commet after someone's death. Comet went silent for a moment, reflecting.

From the shadows, opposite direction to where the bear had gone. Came a group of six cats, all from EarthClan?, mumbled Jackson under his breath.
