TMNT: Blue

Chapter seventeen

Raphael's Point of View:

Wait I did. I waited and stayed glued ta Blue's side as tha worry ate away at me. I refused ta eat until I knew that my mate was goin' ta be okay.

"Wake up, Blue," I prayed as I held my still mate's hand, "I need ya ta open those eyes of yours. I need that so bad right now."

I watched for any movement and prayed for my mate ta wake up and be okay again. Nearly a full day later, Blue's hand twitched as he began ta shift.

"Blue!' I called as tha rest of our family perked up since they too had refused ta leave my mate's side, "Fearless, open those eyes. Come on, Baby."

Relief swept through me as hazel eyes blinked opened and focused on my face.

Leonardo's Point of View:

I was a little surprised to see everyone looking at me as if I had died and come back to life again. What in the world? What was happening and…what did my mate just call me?

"Raph?" I breathed feeling a little weak for some reason and then pushed a breathing mask from my muzzle, "What's going on? Did you just call me 'Baby?'"

I blinked when my mate wiped hastily at some tears on his cheeks and I found myself wrapped in his arms as he silently sobbed against my shoulder. Raph hardly ever cried. Tears from my mate were as rare a thing as Shredder inviting us over to a birthday party. What had gone on that had upset Raph as badly as this? One turtle could tell me because my mate was in no condition to answer me at the moment.

"Donnie?" I asked as I patted Raph's shoulders gently and looked insistently at the turtle in question.

"Do you remember having a seizure yesterday?" Donnie asked making me go rigid as Raph laid me back on my pillow.

"God, no!" I gasped as my hands went to my middle, "Are the Imps okay?!"

"Both you and your babies are okay, but you went into a light coma which is normal after dealing with an eclampsia seizure," Donnie instructed as I relaxed a little and he took the breathing mask from me as he explained what eclampsia was, "I have you on medication that is going to keep both of your conditions under control. I'm sorry, but you will be remaining in that bed until the birth of the twins, Leo."

I listened to every word and now understood why my mate had been so upset. I needed to deal with Raph first. He was a deeply ingrained caretaker and needed to feel useful.

"I understand, Donnie," I agreed, "Anything to keep my babies healthy. Raph, you look terrible. I want my lamps and I want something to eat. Get to work."

Raph smiled at me and bustled out of the room to do as I requested.

"How long was I in the coma?" I asked as Mikey came and wrapped himself around my shoulders as he nuzzled my temple.

"Too long, my son," Father shuddered out as he gave me a light hug after my baby brother had let go, "We have all been very worried. Especially your mate."

"You were out about a day," Donnie answered as I sighed, "You've had all of us very worried. I am so glad that you are awake and I will work hard to keep this from happening again. Sensei's right about your mate. Raph wouldn't leave your side once. "

"Looks like it too," I murmured before growing silent as my mate bustled into the room and set up my heat lamps around my bed, "Mmm. Feels good."

"What do ya want ta eat?" Raph questioned looking eager to please.

"Something you will eat too," I insisted as I smiled gently at my mate to reassure him.

"I'm fine, Blue," Raph offered before growing silent when I gave him a look.
