Teddy stormed up to his bedroom, slamming his door and throwing himself on his bed in a particularly dramatic fashion. He buried his head in his pillow and let out an audible sigh of frustration.
He lay there in silence and could hear the muffled sound of his grand mother below him in the kitchen, slamming cupboards as she went about preparing dinner for the two of them. He lay there listening to her for a while, focusing on something other than his own thoughts swirling about in his head when he heard the fireplace erupt and he knew she was no longer alone in the kitchen.
"Andromeda" Harry's voice was loud and clear and Teddy recognized it immediately. He heard Harry’s footsteps cross the room and stop no doubt in front of his grandmother and stopping to hug her. He leapt off his bed and crossed his room in three quick strides flinging the door open silently as he crept toward the stairs to listen more closely to their conversation.
"He hates me." His grandmother said. He couldn't see anyone but he knew that his grandmother had just thrown something on the stove. The loud clank of the pot echoed throughout the entire house.
"Andromeda, I promise, he does not hate you."
"He has a nasty habit of acting like he does."
"All boys go through a rebellious stage." Harry reassured her. " I went through mine right around the same time as Teddy." Teddy smiled at himself. No matter how old he got he loved being compared to his godfather Harry, and he especially loved it when Harry himself was the one doing the comparing.
"He'll get over it."
"I wish he would get over it faster." Andromeda laughed.
"I have an idea." Harry started laughing with Her. "How about I take him for a while?" Teddy guessed there was hesitation on her face.
"Harry, you spoil that boy rotten."
"I know I do. But it would be nice for him to get out. He can come stay at the house with us. I mean, he'll have to sleep on the couch, and Ginny will probably put him to work with some chores, but I think it would do him some good."
"Perhaps you're right. School will be starting in a few weeks anyway.” She stopped talking, and Teddy knew that she was working through it in her mind, arguing all possible angles against herself. “Alright, you've convinced me." She paused. "Ted!" She hollered. Teddy jumped, at least a foot in the air in surprise. He stood up and calmly walked down the stairs hoping they wouldn't realize he had been eavesdropping in on their conversation.
"Harry!" He exclaimed pretending he did not realize Harry had been there. Harry's arms out stretched and greeted him with the hug he did every time he saw Teddy. "What are you doing here?"
"You're grandmother called me and asked me to come. She says you're becoming a rather large pain." Harry eyed Teddy, scolding him from above the rim of his glasses.
"But Harry here has convinced me that it would do you some good to be out of the house for a while so you're going to spend a few weeks at his house."
"That's brilliant!" He exclaimed.
"You'll have to sleep on the couch, but yeah."
"Excellent! Thank you grandmother!" And he wrapped his arms around Andromeda in a way that he knew she would appreciate.
He turned around and ran up the stairs quickly opening his closet door quickly as he grabbed his big school trunk with both hands and tossed it on his bed. He walked over to his closet and began ripping his clothes off of their wire hangers and letting them fall on the floor. He tossed shirts and pairs of pants and shorts over his shoulder carelessly knowing the would land somewhere in the vicinity of his trunk. He crossed the room and emptied the entire contents of his sock and under garments drawer in the trunk before walking over to his bookshelf and wondering if he should pack anything for school.
