Teddy walked in the room and studied her. Her tiny frame was suddenly accented with curves that definitely hadn’t been there when he saw her at the end of the last school semester. When her long blonde hair hit the sun in the right way Teddy could see natural highlights of honey and strawberry blonde. Her pale skin matched only that of her mother, but when she blushed at the complement that Mr. Weasley had given her there was no mistaking that she was a Weasley, her cheeks turned a brilliant shade of pink and it made Teddy’s heart skip a beat.
He turned and walked back outside and helped Aiden and Ethan finish setting the chairs around the table. When they had finished all of the younger grandchildren crowded around the table picking seats that would give them optimal opportunity to talk and play with their favorite cousins. Teddy made two complete laps around the table trying to position him where he thought that Victoire might sit. The younger grandchildren sat at the far end of the table, and the pattern seemed to be they got older the closer to the inside of the table they got. Roxanne and Dominique sat next to each other, and figuring that Victoire would most likely sit next to her sister, one chair away was the perfect spot for him.
“Will you be my wing-men?” Teddy stuck both his hands out hoping to receive two eager handshakes but instead both boys stood staring at him.
“For who?” Aiden questioned.
“Victoire, of course.”
Ethan’s eyebrow raised. “Whatever man. I may not agree with you, but I’ll support you. His hand gripped Teddy’s.
“Well don’t leave me out.” Aiden’s hand gripped the other.
“Aiden sit next to Fred, then leave a space between you both for Lily.”
“Why?” They asked.
“I’m going to completely exploit my family right now and Lily will be so embarrassed sitting in between you two strapping lads. I’ll come to her rescue in the middle of dinner and seem absolutely irresistible to her.”
“That is a completely evil plan.” Ethan stated.
“And we’re behind you one hundred percent.” Aiden cheered. Each boy sat down carefully where they had planned and just in time. Lily came running out of the house taking extra long strides to watch her frilly dress flow around her.
“Lily!” The boys shouted in unison, each raising their hand to get her attention. The boys glanced at each other and nodded. A big smile spread across their faces. “We saved you a seat beautiful!” They chimed again.
“Okay.” Lily smiled, eager to sit next to the two handsome boys, but it was obvious that her nerves were showing. As if fate were aligning the heavens for him, Molly and Lucy walked out, sitting in the open chairs next to Aiden. Percy and his wife Audrey sat next to them, leaving the only reasonable seat for Teddy exactly where he had planned. He hovered around the table as everyone else moseyed out of the house and took their positions around the table. One by one each available spot dwindled down. Harry sat in the open seat next to where Teddy had chosen to sit. He took that as his cue and sat down next to him.
Victoire walked out the door with her mother and father and scanned the available seats. She spotted her sister and separated from her mother walking to the seat and pulling out the chair.
“We match!” She exclaimed as she sat down and pulled herself closer to the table. Teddy looked up and smiled at her. She smiled and his heart began pounding again. He looked at her soft flowing dress and sure enough it was almost the exact same color as his shirt.
“We do. We better not stand next to each other in the picture though” he laughed. “We’ll be to much lavender for the rest of the photo.”
