Down the hill behind the garden and around a few trees was the Tree House. It wasn't an actual tree house. It was simply a tree with a large trunk that separated drastically before branching out. Harry and Ron had nailed some wood boards on the separated part creating a simple platform. It wasn't much, but it sat six full-grown adults comfortably so it was perfect for the three of them. It was the ideal spot to sit and talk or hang out without being disturbed by anyone. And being the only ones tall enough to climb up, it kept their favorite spot free and clear from the smaller grand children.
Aiden made a running start for the broken branch stub on the right side of the trunk. If anyone had any hope of climbing up they had to use that stub. Expertly, Aiden hit the stub with his foot sending his body high enough to grab the next branch with his hand and he pulled himself up the same way he had been for as long as he had been tall enough to do so.
Teddy and Ethan followed suit and once they all were up they spread out making themselves comfortable.
"I am completely ready for school to start." Ethan breathed. "I'm getting rather bored just sitting around all day. I'd rather be wandering the school and getting in trouble."
"So would I." Aiden agreed.
And just as Teddy was about to agree a sing song voice from down below called his name. "Teddy!"
He poked his head off the platform and looked below. Victoire was standing there tucking her hair behind her ear and looking at him smiling. She was completely unaware of the spell she was casting on Teddy and his emotions. "Hello!" He shouted down to her.
"May I come up for a bit?" She asked nervously, probably positive that they would turn her down just as they had in the years past.
"Yeah sure!" He exclaimed eager for any excuse to spend time with her.
Victoire shuffled awkwardly, unsure how to proceed getting up onto the platform as she actually had never do it before. Aiden and Ethan joined Teddy in staring over the edge of the wood looking down at her and her mental struggle to go about this.
"See that stub there?" Aiden chimed.
"On your right?" Ethan finished. "Put you foot on there and hoist yourself"
"To that there branch!" Aiden added.
Victoire did as she was told and placed one foot on the stub but even standing on her tippy toes she was too short to reach the branch that she needed to pull herself up.
She stepped back on to the ground and laughed a little at herself.
"I'm coming down, watch out!" Teddy said as he turned around, placing on foot where Victoire’s hand should have been and then jumped down the rest of the way.
Standing right next to Victoire it was painfully easy to see why she had trouble climbing up to the Tree House. She was easily a foot shorter than he was, and her delicate frame would have made it nearly impossible for her to pull herself up in the right way.
