Vic's POV
"Vic, after homework, I'd like you to take the car to the shop a town over, it's been rattling." Mama asked me and patted my back. I dropped my pencil and looked up to her, "I can go now, that's not due till Tuesday Ma." I stood up and put it back in my bag. "Where is it? " I questioned and went into the kitchen, her following. After grabbing a drink she responded, "It's just out of town, Issie's Home & Repair. " She kissed my head. "Alright, I'll head now. Bye mama, love you!" I hollered as I grabbed my skateboard to be able to get back home without walking if it required staying overnight. I can't walk well for long periods of time, I was hit by a car and fucked up my knee.
I tossed it in the back and sat in the car. I didn't like social interactions with people I didn't know but I mean ,It's for mama, papa is at work.
I sighed as I started to pull out of the driveway, then of course two fucking bodies runs and jumps into the back seat. "Mike Jaime you fucking idiots!!" I yell at them and reach into the back and slap them. "The pros of having a convertible. " Mike hit me back. I groaned and drove out. "Where you going?" Jaime asked. "To the shop, the car is shit apparently." I hissed and continued to drive. That annoys the fuck out of me, I'm gunna run over one of there asses one day and I'll hate myself again.
I pulled over at our buddy's house, Jake, and let them out. "thanks Vic!" They both yelled as they ran into his house. I waved and pulled out again, going to my original destination. The drive was only about twenty minutes so I didn't mind. What I didn't appreciate was me realizing I had no idea what the fuck to do. I parked the car on the side and went inside the shop, by the desk. "Need anything?" A blonde guy in a white, looking like it was supposed to be white, shirt asked. He was covered in grease and just dirty.
"Um, My uh, Car isn't running right and I don't know how to -"
"You want a check up basically?" He finished for me. "Yeah, uh. Yeah sorry." I chuckled at myself. "The black convertible right?" He hummed. "Yeah,"
"Fill this out real quick, " He handed me a paper and a pen.
It just said my name, type of car, , number and what was the last thing the car needed fixed. "Here." I handed it back to him. He gave me a quick smile. "I'll- wait shit. Hold on. Kellin!!" He yelled to the side as a guy in all black and long hair came out. He tripped and then coughed. "What?"
"Go pull up the car out there and check it up, Lynn and I's dinner for a year is tonight and I can't be late. Here's this, I need to go." He passed off the paper. I nodded. "Need anything from the car? I'll have it fixed by five and it'll be most likely two hundred dollars. I'll call you when I figure out what's wrong with it. If it's at a reasonable time. " He offered a hand, then quickly pulled away. "I'm Kellin but my hands are covered in oil and grease, love." He winked.
"u-um, I'm Vic. and I need my skateboard." I managed to squeal out. His voice was high, but rough and scratchy. He seemed like a bad boy. "Aright, go get it, I'll clean up before I get in the car so it's not covered. " He nodded.
"So I just leave when I'm done right?" I asked. He chuckled. "Yeah."
I shrugged it off and hurried to grab my board and rush home. I didn't feel safe, out on the street I mean it's nearing eight and is getting dark. It took me half an hour to get home and dinner was done, but the second I got in the door my phone rang. I sighed and put my board up to answer it. "Hello?"
"Well you sound in a good mood. It's Kellin. There was a dead bird in the hood which caused some problems so, yeah, It'll only be like fifty dollars because the breaks were loose too. But I didn't charge you for that because it was a easy fix and it's not what you came in for. Are you're able to come and get it now and pay or wait till tomorrow?" he asked and got right to it. "I am not fucking skating a town over again, I'll get it tomorrow and pay. " I groaned.
"Okay pissy pants, fuck you too. Just get it anytime tomorrow." He hung up. I rolled my eyes and went to the dinner table where everyone was. "How'd it go?" Papa asked. "Dead bird and loose breaks. Fifty dollars, I've got it. I just am going to sleep. " I started to go upstairs. "No, Vic come eat dinner." Mama hummed. " Ma, I'll eat breakfast. Swear. Just let me go to sleep please." I begged. "Fine." She gave up. I took a deep breath and ran up stairs to my room. I'm so fucking tired. I plugged in my phone and jumped into my bed, I love you bed.
I woke to my alarm blaring We Did It Again by Metallica. I groaned and rolled out of my bed, grabbing clothes before I went into the bathroom. I took a quick shower and ran downstairs where Mike was with Mama and Papa. They set out a plate for me, which I normally don't eat in the morning's because it'll take more time so I can't get to my class early. Call me a nerd but if I get there before everyone else does I can do most of the work and chill on my phone or write.
I ate what was on my plate, us in silence. We're trying to change the fact of us being talkative more because when I was depressed and shit, we weren't an open family, causing a lot of my problems. But it's changed for the most part, everything is better too.
"Alrighty, time to go." Mike stood and patted my back I put my plate in the sink and grabbed my penny board, as he grabbed my skateboard and started to go. He followed along, slowly though. Ah, Tony must have broke his phone again. Yeah, he does that a lot. That's why he only buy's old ass flip phones for super cheap.. "Broken again?" I asked. He nodded and started speeding up. I laughed and started to race him.
Let's just say, I won.
I ran up to my locker, avoiding everyone.
