For once in my life I'm glad I didn't drink much alcohol.
The curtains to my room were suddenly yanked open, giving the striking beams of sunlight a way to attack my sensitive eyes. Groaning in annoyance, I popped one eye open and discreetly scanned the room for the intruder when a petite figure stood in my line of vision.
Scrunching my nose up, I tiredly glanced up and at the person's face, only to see the devil's spawn herself.
My sister.
"What do you want?"
After a few minutes passed without a reply, I finally looked up only to see her smirking. I narrowed my sore eyes at her then grabbed my blanket and covered myself with it, including my head. I turned my body on the bed so my blanket-covered back was facing her.
"Come on Ric, you promised!" She whined annoyingly, causing me to wince in pain.
Note to self, don't promise to do something for Harley.
Trying to ignore her, I closed my eyes and waited for sleep to take me once again when the blankets were ripped away.
"Mom! Harley is being a basic female dog!" I yelled sleepily but got no response in return.
"She's not here basic asshole." Harley stated with a smirk.
"Then where is she? "
"Don't know, she wasn't here when I woke up." Harley shrugged unknowingly.
Also shrugging in confusion, I glared directly at Harley with 'hate' for the first time in a while. As if sensing my stare, she turned her head and challenged me by smirking.
This went on for a couple minutes or so...
"Okay! I give up! " I started and she whooped in victory, "What do you want?" I continued.
"I want you to take me to the mall. My friends ate meeting me there." She stated as if she was in charge.
Should I really do this? Damn...all I wanted was sleep today.
"Fine...but I'm bringing Adam and Zach." I said offhandedly but frowned when she lit up like a Christmas tree at the mention of Zach's name.
"Really! " Harley squealed, barely hiding her excitement, which allowed my thoughts to swim towards dark places.
"Harley...do you like one of my best friends?"
The question seemed to catch her of guard as her eyes widened in shock and she started to fumble.
"N-No..."
As a kid, Harley always stuttered when she was nervous or lying about something.
"Harley..." I said in a warning tone.
"Nothing, nothing is going on Ric."
Her confidence seemed to spike as she continued to talk causing my frown to soften.
"Okay, I'm sorry. Could we just have breakfast now? "
Pleading slightly with my eyes, I saw the hard look in her eyes dissolve and she smiled brightly.
"Sure, get dressed and come down. Oh...and get some clothes for Adam."
Sighing in annoyance, I grabbed a set of clothes for myself and my towel then strode towards my en suite bathroom.
