Warning(s) // agegap, (a bit) mentions of religion and a teeny bit sexual content. Before you read, you should know that there will be a part 2 because this chapter seemed long for some reason.
Ashley George.
Most thought she was an urban legend. Many people questioned her existence - some people say that she doesn't exist and that it's just a story teenagers told their younger siblings so they could brag about how cool it was to be a teenager.
The ending never stayed the same either. In some stories, the girl and the man ran away together and was happy in France, another story stated that the man was serving fifteen years in prison while another story said that the father of the girl had brutally murdered both of them.
That story has been spread around for years and still, no one knows if the story actually happened or knows the truth behind the story - whenever you searched her name on the Internet, thousands of different articles would pop up about her, some websites trying to convince people that the entire story was a made up story made by a bunch of hormonal teenagers, while some articles tried to convince people that the story was in fact real.
The story goes that Ashley George was a precocious sixteen year old girl who didn't get along with her father too well because he was a pastor and he was very strict on the rules that he made around the house; no cursing, no rap music, no wearing clothes that showed too much, no pagers and definitely no boyfriends.
Of course, Ashley went against all of the rules that her father made up - and she didn't have a "boyfriend", she had a man. The man who she was in love with. The man who was ten years older than her.
I'n sure you can already see where the problem of the story came in at, right? A sixteen year old girl dating a twenty six year old was taboo in everyone's eyes, especially back in the nineties.
Ashley had met Ren when she was just fourteen years old - they wasn't doing anything at the time but they still spoke to one another if they saw each other while he was walking his dog at the park or at the grocery store somewhere.
Their relationship didn't progress until she was just two months away from turning sixteen and it happened after her father had kicked her out of the house for a few hours because she had on a shirt that exposed her stomach and her breats were more devolped than the average fifteen year old girl was.
He said that girls (or women) who dressed like that was the child of the devil and that God would surely punish them, Ashley would roll her eyes whenever her father forced her to come to his church because he talked about the same thing: rap music, pregnant teens, gay marriage, practically anything that had nothing to do with what he's supposed to be preaching about.
Ashley walks out of the room and gives an obvious forced smile to her father and his friend who was sitting on the couch in the living room of her home. Her father, Melvin looks up, ready to greet her but his face then turns into one of disgust when he sees the “devil's clothing” that she was wearing.
