JADA COULDN'T BELIEVE THAT SHE
allowed her friend to talk her into going to her ex boyfriend's wedding. Everything about this whole situation was about to be just plain weird and uncomfortable. Especially since she never met his girlfriend - his wife a day in her life. They were currently at the after party and her friend had already ran off with some dude that she had met as soon as the two walked into the church. She was sitting down at an empty table and taking small sips of the red wine that someone had handed out to everyone.
Jada runs a hand through her hair, probably messing up the curls that her mother had did earlier today but she could care less right now. She takes another sip from the red wine and she hears the chair across from her scrape across the floor but she doesn't look up. She already had to turn down three dudes so she was just gonna ignore this one and hoped that he got the hint.
“I didn't think you would come, really.”
Jada chokes on the wine when she hears the man's voice who she was still so utterly in love with. Even after not being together for almost seven years now.
Jada looks up and she could feel her heart do a leap in her stomach as she takes in his appearance. He was still as handsome as she remembered him to be. “I couldn't miss Nasir Jones finally settling down with someone.” she jokes and he chuckles, shaking his head.
“How did you like the cake?” He asks her and she nods her head. She found it a bit weird that he had got the same exact cake that she always said that she wanted at their wedding but she shook it off as it being just a coincidence. Maybe her and his wife just had the same taste.
“It was really good.” She responds with a smile, she then glances over at his wife, Alicia who was currently sitting at a table with her own family and laughing. “Wow,” Jada whispers, shaking her head. “She is so beautiful.”
“Yeah.. she is.” Nas responds without even glancing in his wife's direction, his full attention was still on Jada, staring at her with so much intensity. “She reminds me of you a little.”
Jada looks over at him and gives him another smile, she opens her mouth to speak but was cut off by Alicia walking up to the both of them, standing in between them, her back facing Jada as she leans down and suddenly smashes her lips onto her husband's.
Jada raises both eyebrows as she awkwardly looks away and scratches at the back of her head. Really wishing that she knew where her friend was so they could leave already.
Alicia finally pulls back, looking down at Nasir and flipping her hair behind her right shoulder. “Are we still doing our dance?” she asks him and he nods his head, looking up at her weirdly.
Nas glances over at Jada again. “I would like you to meet my friend, Jada.” He says, nodding his head towards her and Alicia turns around, a plastic smile on her face.
Alicia looks her up and down a bit before speaking, “I didn't even notice you there.” she says and Jada looks back up at her. “Who are you anyways?”
Jada looks over at Nas who had a look on his face that was telling her to not say anything but he should know how she is. “I believe Nasir just introduced me.” she looks back at the bride. “Now who are you?”
Alicia looked a bit taken back by the girls response, the two of them have a stare down for a while before Alicia turns and looks at Nas again, “Wanna dance now?” she questions but before he could even answer, she grabs his forearm and was already dragging him out of his seat and onto the marbled floor.
