I woke up to the sound of hustling and bustling. The sound of clanging frying pans and very loud whispers roused me from my sleep.
I opened my eyes.
" Run for your life!" shouted a guy.
" It's gonna eat us!" screamed another.
I sat up only to hit my head on a beam.
" Ow!" I exclaimed.
" AAAAAAHHHHH!!!" the men screamed back.
" Who's there?" I asked, looking around to see if there's anybody.
Then I saw it. The ceiling was too low for an average-sized human. The chairs were too small for a human's butt, and the beds were too cute! And behind the headboards were small portruding, shaking butts. Yes, they were shaking in fear that I might eat them. So I decided to break the awkward silence:
" Don't worry. I'm not a cannibal." I said.
" An animal?" one asked.
" No, a cannibal." I replied.
" A Hannibal?" another asked.
" No, a cannibal." I replied again, smiling.
" Oh my gibberish fairygodmother! She IS a cannibal!" they all screamed.
" No, no! Wait!"
And that's when they came out. Little guys with long beards and beady eyes. They were dwarfs! And I remember seeing one of them last night. Yes! The grumpy one. And, Diamonds!
" Diamonds!" I said. " Do you have diamonds?"
" Thief!" they all screamed, again.
" No, I am not a thief. I am Princess Sabia. I got lost last night and I woke up in this little cottage. I know someone saved me last night." I said.
" I did." one of the dwarfs stepped out of the group. The one who I met last night. All the others were looking at him and muttered about him being eaten by me, and how I would digest him.
" Please, I will not eat you. I just want to go home. My father and mother would be so worried about me if I am not back in my tower. Please, I just need food and safe journey back. I got lost last night, so I really don't know which bridge to cross, which hill to hike." And then I realized I was already crying.
The dwarfs exchanged glances and nodded.
" We will lead you home." said a dwarf with a big belly. " Only if you won't eat us."
I smiled at the thought of eating these men. So they fed me porridge and fuits, and when I was full, I decided to leave.
" Thank you so much for your hospitality. I will invite you someday to the palace and we'll assemble a feast just for you!" I said.
" Okay, before you leave, say our names."
" Goodbye Hiccups, Limpy, Giggles, Choco, Belly, Carrots, and Sneer." I memorized them all!
" Okay, let's go." Limpy said.
" But I thought you would just start me on the right path." I said, confused.
" We won't let you go on your own. These woods hide lots of dark magical secrets. We don't want a beautiful flower like you get tangled in those traps. Heehee!" Giggles giggled.
" Okay then, let's go men!" Belly bellowed.
And on the way to the castle we sang jolly songs and danced all the way to the castle. Never knowing that there was someone waiting for us in the deeper part of the woods.
