As we walked through the forest, singing and skipping, something made us stop.
A guy holding a bow and arrow in place and in front of my face! I squealed so loud in fear that I might get hit. But he put it down when he saw that we were NOT animals worthy to hunt!
" What is your problem?! Pointing an arrow... at my face! I can't believe it! For someone who did that to me, is worthy to be beheaded!" I ranted.
" Well, what were you doing in these part of the woods, anyway? These woods are the best hunting grounds for game and all." the boy replied, with fists clenched.
" Well, Mr. I-totally-own-this-forest, I don't look like lunch." I said with my head held high. " Come on, guys." I called on to the seven guys who are to escort me back home.
" Wait, where are you guys heading anyway?" the boy asked.
" Never talk to strangers." I told the dwarfs to ignore him.
" Nice talking." he called out, but I was too far to hear or even mind.
" Big bully." Giggles said.
" Huh?"
" You are such a big bully to Darien." he said.
" That 'human' has a name?" I snorted.
" He is kind, you know. He hunts for us sometimes when we get sick and when we're too weak to work. And you just blabbered your mouth off. His bow and arrow thing is just an instinct. Don't let it scare you too easily." Belly added.
I bit my lip, too guilty to speak.
So I did what every normal person would do. I took a U-turn. I ran to find this "Darien" and apologize. Princesses should apologize in any way possible. They should not let any oppurtunity pass them. And I sure as heck won't let it pass me. I ran, ignoring the screaming dwarfs behind me.
I---bumped into someone. And, Yes! It was Darien!
" Sir Darien--" I stammered as he helpep me up to my feet.
" You weren't looking at where you were going..." he said as he dusted off the dirt on his shirt.
" Darien, as a princess, I bow in shame for disrespecting you in every way possible. I do hope this simple gesture will be enough for you to forgive my---" he picked me up from the ground.
" Wait, you're the princess?" he asked.
" Uh, yeah."
" Like, Princess Sabia? Princess Sabia!" he bowed very low on the ground. " I am so sorry I scared you. I apologize for aiming a weapon on your presence And for that, I know I must be beheaded." he said.
" Are you crazy? Get up, will you?"
" Your highness I am so sorry." he pleaded.
" I am so sorry too.So, are we okay?" I smiled.
" If you wish it to be, Your Majesty." he bowed again.
" Will you stop doing that?!" I slapped him on the back and he made a face.
" Your Highness, what are you doing here? I thought you were locked up in your tower and--"
" Ssshhh. I escaped last night, and got lost in the woods. These guys helped me out." I gestured to the dwarfs behind me.
" Hey, Darien." they greeted.
" Well, aren't you going back? I mean, to the palace?" he said, looking worried.
" Well, I am now. And I do hope we get there soon. Mother and Father must be worried sick when they look in my tower and find me gone."
" Well, let me help you guys then." he volunteered.
" Okay." I agreed. " Are you sure you're a good person?"
He laughed. " 'O course I am. Just a carpenter's son, your Majesty. But I assure you, you'll arrive safely." he promised.
And yeah, you know that feeling when you see a guy and your heart sort of jumps? ( And that is NOT what I'm feeling, mind you.) Those hunter eyes, the big cute smile willl surely take your breath away... But not MY breath, surely...
Hew joined our jouney back home, and I didn't realize earlier how far I ran last night.
Let's just hope I won't get into trouble.
