I got a cab to take me to my apartment that me and my parents got when discussing my future about college without Jonathan. The apartment was really beautiful from what I've seen on images my mother brought back after booking.
"Where are you going ma'am?" Asked the driver I forgot was waiting on me.
The driver wasn't really scary or had a mean face. You know how cranky they can get. I hurried to get out my phone to show him the address on my phone. He took one look at it then nodded telling me he knows the area.
The car was put on ignition and to the apartment we went in silence. Well not really silence, the cars hooting outside and also pedestrians talking on their phones ignoring cars causing drivers to let out their frustrations on their driving.
I could swear I heard the word 'Bitch' and 'Fuck' used in a sentence more than twice. Is that how we construct sentences now?
It was almost noon, the sun was still bright though even if it was obscured by the tall buildings. It was not really windy but I still had a coat on in case I got to the apartment late due to traffic. I guess I should have listened about New York traffic being a pain.
I started to feel distant, my mind kept drifting back to Jonathan and how I couldn't keep myself distracted long enough. Taking a deep breath I decided to look outside and enjoy the beautiful view outside the window.
I guess you can say I was nervous. I didn't know what to expect when I got to my apartment. All I knew is that I had a mate to share it with, I also got the name although not the face. Holly Cara. I really wonder what she looks like.
Will she like me? Does she have a boyfriend? Is she one of those bitch that hate on you for nothing?Yes I had a lot of those, I don't need them now.
People were jealous of me back home. Im not an all-beauty-no-brains kind of girl. I got beauty and the brains. I take facial beauty and fitness seriously, I don't want to be known as a duff and have to go through 5 stages of grief.
"Ma'am, I believe this is your stop."
The driver pulled me out of my thoughts since I've been staring out the window. I took a look around and saw the outside actually looks familiar so this must be it.
"Thank you. Here, keep the change." I said as I gave him the cab fee and got out. He helped take out my bags from the trunk.
As I was starting to carry all the bags, the doorman rushed to my side and instated on helping.
"Please allow me."
"Oh no, its quiet alright. I can carry them inside."
"Ma'am its my job. Plus I doubt the hotel owner will let me see tomorrow if I let such a beauty be burdened with luggage"
I swear my jaw dropped when I heard him insinuate that the owner will kill him.
"I'm only joking, he's actually a fine young man that got in with the bad crowd but please allow me". He said as he reached for my bags.
I took a closer look at his name tag.
"Okay but only if I also carry one of them Mr James."
"James, I'm not that old to be called a mister." I was shocked because the guy looks like he is in his late thirties.
"Since you say so yourself then I prefer to be called Macy. I'm still young to be called ma'am" I passed him a smile. I never had such an older person prefer first name basis with me. I guess New York had more up its sleeve.
