It was 10 pm, and I was brushing my teeth and getting ready for bed. I climbed into my blue and purple bed and closed my eyes. Only to awaken to footsteps at midnight.

"Mom?" I whispered. I saw a shadow of a girl with long hair at my door. She just stood there and suddenly started walking closer to me. I started to get freaked out. Then I heard a voice.

"Hailey." The ghostly girl voice said. She sounded like she was twelve or eleven.

"Hailey." She repeated. I stared at her, horrified. "Who are you?" I said trembling with fear. She stood still just a few feet from my bed. "I want to be your friend." She whispered creepily. I was almost to tears. I squeezed by blanket tightly.

"Don't be frightened, Hailey." She again said creepily. I loosened my grip on my blanket and wiped my eyes. "I just want to be your friend." the girl whispered.

"Wh-what's your name?" I asked still trembling.

"Nasctavi. Thank you for being my friend. I will come back every night to have a. . . chat, with you." Nasctavi said.

"May I see your face Nasctavi?" I asked less scared. She froze. "No. I cannot, you will be frightened."

I went with it because I might have been scared. So she stayed in the dark. I felt a connection with her, she didn't seem that bad, but then again she did break into my house to be my friend in the middle of the night.

"Hailey, may I bring my friend Oxplu tomorrow night? He would love to see you Hailey."

I bit my lip and thought about it then replied, "O-Ok Nasctavi. But try to be quiet, I don't want my family waking up. They might see you as a kidnapper or something. . ." I gave a nervous laugh and she gave a chuckle too in a ghostly voice.

"I must go now, have a nice slumber." She whispered and stepped out of the room.

There was something about Nasctavi I didn't like.

She had no shadow.
