Space

The next day passed by uneventful. Everything was fine except from the occasional stares from the staff and glares from Jayden. His face was bruised and battered. His eyes and nose swollen from Dean's fist and he probably has a concussion from that chair. Speaking of Dean, all day when we saw him, he avoided us, although I caught him stealing glances at us.

After defending us last night, we had to thank him although now doesn't seem as the best time. He needs space so we give him space.

As the day dragged on I noticed Ronnie seemed out of it. Who could blame her. Even I've been thinking about what happened.

It was about 2 o'clock when we took a break from training so we decided to go to the garden.

As we walked toward our destination, we heard steps behind us and panting. I looked back in time to see Sam stop behind us, catching his breath.

"Uh, sup dude ? " I greeted him

"Hey guys..." He started playing with the hemming on his shirt as he collected his breath. "Um I saw what you did last night. That was really cool standing up for the LGBTQ community. Assholes like Jayden need to be taught respect. Anyway, I just wanted to say that thanks for that."

Ronnie and I looked at each other and smirked. After analyzing us, he realized that he might have given his secret away. His eyes widened in shock.

"Wait. Sam, are you ga-?" I whispered while slyly smiling at him but before I could finish, he sped off down the hallways.

"He's probably still in the closet." Ronnie shrugged and began our way to the garden.

As we entered, we were startled by Dean sitting on the bench. We turned to leave but he stopped us.

"We need to talk. Both of you. About what happened to Adrian last night." He turned to us and batted the benches in front of him.

"Stop!"

My heart started beating frantically. I thought that I could avoid talking about it. Why does life hate me? As we made our way to him, I marveled at the scenery. Big rose bushes and white benches lined the entire garden. At the middle, there was a sweet little pond that shone sky blue.

I sat to the left of Dean , Ronnie sitting on the right, and I began to stare at the white roses as Dean spoke.

"Last night, we found out your powers origin. Your powers consisted of fire, wind and intense heat. We already know that you don't represent the sun which only leaves one other option that fits this description most accurately. Most likely you hold the elements of the planet... On second thought I'll let you guys figure it out on your own." He smirked.
I should also that smirk right off of his perfec... I mean stupid face. Idiot

"Oh come on!"yelled Ronnie and I in sync.

"Why are you so cruel?" I asked pouting.

Ronnie followed suit and said in the cutest voice she could muster " Oppa, please tell us ." Pain filling her eyes with every high pitched word as she leaned closer to him for 'effect'.

He gently pushed her head back while he grimaced at the horrendous sight which was Ronnie.

Oh gosh... Moments like these make me question her existence.

"Uh let me think- No. Back to the topic at hand. Last night Adrian you explored the dark side of your powers, purely controlled by your emotions towards Jayden. You cant let your emotions control your output. "

He continued, " If you don't learn to control it, you may venture too deep into you dark side which would make it almost impossible to escape. Once a keeper ventures into the dark side, usually their guardian can get them out but, only if the keeper wants to come back. Guardians and keepers share a bond and are so close. If you explore your dark side. There would still be at least a part of you that'll want to be back with the guardian. As I said before, the bond is extremely important, if it's broken by betrayal or anything else, then hope is lost for both participants. With darkness comes greed. For more power than what is given."

"That's a lot to take in." As Ronnie spoke to Dean, I avoided eye contact. Was Ronnie the reason I was able to come back to reality last night? What would happen if she's gone. I found it hard enough to detach myself from the darkness with her by my side.

"Adrian, are you here?" Ronnie asked snapping her finger in front of my face.

"Yeah sorry I just got lost."

"I wanna know how you felt last night when you torched the room." Dean said staring at me. "The truth. I need to know how strong Ronnie's powers are."

I started, " It was all... Overwhelming-"

"More in depth Adrian."

I let it all out.
"It felt like I was drowning. Like something was controlling what I did. I felt like if I didn't give complete control to the 'anger' inside of me , I would suffocate." I replied leaving out how much I enjoyed it.

"Wow. Its worse than expected, next week when you come back, tell you would know the details of your training." getting up with a lengthy sigh and running a hand through his hair, he smirked and winked at us " Till then ladies. " with that he left.

" Ew, Dean's such a weirdo." Ronnie chuckled rolling her eyes at his actions.

I smiled in response, letting out a soft chuckle . "says the one who shouts "hail Satan" everyday "

I can't wait to go home. I've got a lot to think about, plus I've got popcorn, pocky, and horror movies to watch with Ronnie. Unfortunately.
