I have decided to try a new POV for this chapter, so I will do Dekka's. Just a reminder that this is happening at the same time as everything else, (Except for the flashback), sooo... yeah. Enjoy! :P
Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow. Holy cow this hurts! What a douche bag! He has such a cold heart... and mind. I thought, trying to focus on anything but the pain. The concrete was only on my hands, but I could feel the pain through my whole body. It was itchy, and there was a burning sensation all the way up my forearm. It was the worst thing I have ever experienced. Your hands weighed down to the ground, unable to lift them, unable to do anything, hold anything. Oh yeah, it was definitely the worst experience ever. It was also my fault that Faith was in here too, if I would have just thought about what I was about to say before I said it. It all started this morning...
-Flashback-
Caine has been so scheduled lately, even more so than when the adults were still here. Nobody knows what happened that day. Everyone was in classes, including me, I was in science class. Our teacher was writing on the chalk board, when he disappeared, taking the piece of chalk with him. Everyone was partying and messing everything up in the room, not me. I panicked, what would happen now? Who would be in charge? Then my questions were answered, when Caine quickly got everyone organized using his telekinesis. When he used his power some people were stunned. Except for the people who also had powers that they knew about. Everything took off from that time, when Caine took control of Coates.
Weeks later, present day (Late morning/ lunch, still in the past though!):
It was lunch time here, thank god! I was starving! My stomach has been yelling for food for forever! But, it's not like it was the most desirable lunch ever, it was black beans, spinach, and some kind of strange glop that we have always had, even when the adults were here. Lets just say our cook wasn't very dedicated to her work. Whenever someone asked what the glop was, she would just grunt and ignore them. I was pretty sure it was horse fat and intestines mixed with a tad of dirt, or at least, that was what it tasted like, although I don't really know if that's what horse intestines and dirt taste like.
Anyway, I gathered up my lunch and sat beside my one friend, Jayd. At the moment she was turned away and talking to a boy named Josh, who had blonde hair and blue eyes, he used to be in my biology and anger management classes. Since Jayd was busy, I decided to just start eating my mush. It smelled like rotten eggs mixed with vomit. Gross. I Paid little attention to my surroundings and focused on my thoughts. My thoughts on the FAYZ. My thoughts were interrupted by a hand waving right in front of my face and the feeing of being punched lightly on the shoulder.
"Come on, Dekka. What is up with you? You've been so spacy lately! I can't even get you to answer my questions!" Jayd yelled at me.
"Sorry! Sorry, I was thinking." I said, still staring at my food.
"Damn straight! So..." Jayd kept babbling on and on. But then I remembered...
I HAVEN'T FED FAITH YET TODAY! SHE MUST BE STARVING!
I interrupted Jayd, "I have to go!" I said.
"Okay. Wait, why?" She answered in confusion.
I ignored her question and started to scurry over to the double doors.
"I have to go feed Faith!" I finally yelled back to her, grabbing an extra filled lunch tray on my way to the doors.
I stopped dead in my tracks as soon as I realized what I just said. I am sure everybody heard. I saw Caine stand up, followed by some of his cronies, Caine had a look on his face that said, I'm curious and mad. That is never a good combination.
