A packed crowd inside a train was where you currently were. On your way to see a doctor about helping your anxiety. A sharp pain shot through your side. "Ouch" you mumbled, rubbing the sore spot where a person has just stabbed their elbow... blah station was called out, this is your stop. You followed the push and pulls of the crowd as you all made your way out of the train...
Time skip~
Dr. Yoshida, the door says as you anxiously await to be called by the doctor to come in. The door clicks open and a man with a kind face and white hair with black roots walk out. He nodded toward your direction, but you looked down to the floor, fumbling with your feet. Once you looked back up, he was gone.
Y/n the doctor called... signaling it to be your turn...
Several weeks later you came back to see the doctor... you've been going twice a week for the past five weeks... the last meeting you had was to learn to respond to people when they acknowledge you... the doors opened and you saw the same man you had seen the first day. He nodded like he did last time but instead of looking to the ground, you timidly nodded back. His eyes grew bigger in surprise, then he softly smiled. You couldn't help but look at him. When he let out a chuckle, You blushed turning your head toward the ground... embarrassed that you had stared too long. Once again he was gone by the time you looked up... You wished you could talk to him, maybe one day...
Y/n, please come in.
You sat down in your usual seat facing Dr. Yoshida...
You nodded your head in his direction.
"How are you today?"
"Good." You Said softly... and the meeting continued like usual except this time you were fumbling with your feet, working up the courage to ask the doctor a question...
"You look like a woman with something to say." The doctor said aloud. Your cheeks grew warm, embarrassed that you were easily seen through. "Um" You started. " who... who was the man that was here before me?" You glanced at the clock, afraid to look in his direction.
"Ah" the doctor nodded. "Sorry, but I can't tell you that, doctor/patient confidentiality, you understand right?"
You quickly bowed your head. "Sorry, I shouldn't have asked. Thank you." You mumbled.
"I have a recommendation for a place for you to visit" .. you looked up at him questioningly. This was unusual..
"Think of it as a test to see how well you do, if you have free time, I would like you to visit the cafe that is on the corner of the street before you come here.. I recommend you come at opening time so you can try their well known croissants and delicious coffee. You stood up and nodded. "I will go before my next appointment on Thursday." The doctor gave you a wave and you walked out waiting for Thursday to come.
Wanderlust: a strong desire or urge to travel & explore the world is what the sign over the cafe in the corner states. The door chimed when opened and the smell of fresh baked goods and the bitter coffee filled your senses. You involuntarily let out a big breath of relief, it wasn't very crowded yet... it was quaint and there were maps and globes all over. Each booth represented different countries. You went up to the counter and quietly said your order three times for the order taker, each time with your voice raising a little higher. You began to feel more nervous. When your order was ready you walked over the the booth for new zealand and sat.
"Itadakimasu" You bit into the croissant and moaned at the taste it was so flaky and perfect. Good thing You bought two.
"Hello!" a voice called out.
You quickly looked up while in the middle of chewing and was met by the kind smiling man you had seen two times previously. In shock, you chewed your croissant as fast as you could but then started choking on it. The man panicked and patted your back until you calmed down, then he shoved a glass of water in your hands encouraging you to drink it. Your face grew hot in embarrassment.
" Thank you." You said quietly while looking at the rest of the croissant you had left.
"Of course, may I sit down?"
You nodded slowly. You had wished to talk to him but You weren't ready! Not yet... your mind was in a state of panic.
He grinned. "Thanks, my name is Haise Sasaki. Nice to meet you.." he paused.
"Oh um... y/n... its y/n"
"Nice to meet you y/n!" He repeated as he sat down placing his coffee on the table.
Ah so this is why the test, you thought to yourself as the pieces clicked together.
