Chapter 11

Several months passed by since you got out of the hospital.

Your doorbell rang. You opened the door and saw that it was Haise.

"Hey!" You said surprised.

He was holding a bouquet of flowers and a present in his hands.

"Why are you so surprised?" He asked while laughing as he made his way inside. "Don't tell me you forgot what day it is today."

You thought seriously for a minute and it came to you. How did you forget your own birthday. But to be honest, you had been really busy with work and hanging out with Haise in your free time.

Haise flicked your forehead and proceeded to take you in for a hug. You always loved his hugs. It felt felt warm and safe.

"So how do you want to celebrate your birthday, birthday girl?" He asked excitedly.

But his expression changed and he became dejected. You looked to where he was staring and remembered you were wearing a tank top. There was a noticeable scar from where Haise had bitten you.

"Don't say it." You stated. "You've already apologized thousands of times and I have forgiven you thousands more, okay?"

He walked up to you and placed a hand on your shoulders tracing the scar. "Let me apologize five more times."

You looked at him confused but then he leaned his head closer to your shoulder and began to kiss the scar 5 times in place of words. Each time, you face grew a brighter shade of red. He laid his head on your shoulder and you lightly pushed him off, making him stand in front of you. You wrapped your arms around his neck. "Thank you." You smiled sweetly.

He kissed your forehead in response, and then your cheeks. He looked you in the eyes,sensing what he was asking. You closed your eyes and he pulled you in for a deep sweet kiss.

When you two broke apart, you smiled and your foreheads touched. "Lets watch a movie" you suggested.

Haise smiled in response. You quickly went into your room and put on a t-shirt, not wanting Haise to become sad again although when what happened ran through your mind you blushed. You began to grin like an idiot.

The two of you put on a movie to watch and then Haise made you dinner, which was katsudon.

"Okay, now open my present." Haise said excitedly. He wrapped his arms around your  waist hugging you from behind. You laughed. "Okay okay, hand it to me."

He went to the table to grab your present and you two sat next to each other on the couch. You opened the present to see that it was a book you had been wanting along with a bookmark that had pictures of the two of you together.

"Thank you." You grinned pulling him in for a hug. You kissed his cheek.

Haise's face became serious. "I may not be able to see you for awhile but I will keep in touch with you this time." He stated.

"Oh I see." He could sense the disappointment in your tone.

"I promise I will come back, okay." He said as he placed a hair strand behind your ear.  He leaned closer and you noticed the black speckles in his gray eyes. He lightly kissed your lips.

Since Haise had the late shift at work tonight, you two said your good nights.

You didn't see him again until two years later.
