| Chapter Two |
I made it to school with minutes to spare. I had drunk all of my hot cocoa on the way there. I still was in my feelings about the encounter I had with the guy at Starbucks. Damn, I need to get over that shit, for real. I mean fairy tales and dreams don't come true for a girl like me, and everybody knows that.
I got out of the car grabbing my purse and dropping my keys in there. I made my way for the school corridor doors. That's when it happened, a scent passed my nose that smelled like cologne and smoke, I turned around to find a guy whom I've never seen before. He was caramel with almond eyes and a body that would make Trey Songz jealous. Damn. He walked past me and nearly knocked me over. I know he saw my ass standing right here. He turned around and looked at me,
" Um...I'm sorry if I bumped you.", he said with a almost confused look on his face. I wonder where he's from. He had an accent that sounded like he came from up north.
"It's fine." I say smiling slightly; I held out my hand "I'm Autumn. Autumn Banks." I said waiting on him to return the gesture.
"I know, you're the girl that fucks everybody." He said with a sly grin on his face. Hold up, did I hear him right? Yeah, this conversation is dead. I walked away and headed into the school. The quicker the better, before I have to shoot a nigga.
When school was over I was at my car before you could get the word 'Hoe' out your mouth. My day went as suspected I was called a swoop and a hoe every now and again, the usual. I didn't care, if they man wanted them he'd be fucking them, but he fucking me so you ain't doing something right, Shawty.
I headed home early, I didn't have any 'appointments' today so I could just chill or whatever. I drove down the road listening to the radio. I guess I can go shopping since it's the weekend. I drove down several streets and stopped at many traffic lights and stop signs, until I finally reached my destination, the mall.
I don't always shop at the mall; I get most of my things offline, it's just easier that way. I parked my car and got out. Here I go.
I walked towards the doors that opened into the front of the mall. There was a guy in front of me, he looked familiar. Must be somebody I been with. When I got to the doors I noticed that he held the door for me. When I looked back to see who it was my heart did the same thing it did this morning when I met him at Starbucks. Talk to him you dummy.
"Thanks." I said looking into his eyes. "Umm...Do I know you from somewhere?" I asked hoping he had remember. Shit, I'm in my feelings again for a dude I don't even know.
"No, I don't think so." He said smiling. "I'm Anthony." He continued with a grin on his face. His voice was like velvet, deep and smooth.
"Hi, I'm Autumn. Nice to meet you." I said walking through the door.
"Aye, would you mind if I got your number? Maybe we can hang sometime?" He asked. Did I hear him right. He wanted my number?
"Sure." I said while he took out his phone; I put my name and number in the required places. "There you go." I said as I handed him his phone back.
"Alright, bet." he replied as we started walking through the mall.
Surprisingly, we had a lot in common and talked the entire time. I didn't spend not a penny, dime, or nickel he paid for WHATEVER I wanted. I swear if this was a dream, I didn't ever want to wake up.
After a well spent day at the mall with Anthony we said our goodbyes as we headed for the parking lot. Was it wrong that I wanted to kiss a guy I just met? Then again, I shouldn't since he doesn't know my history.
"Well goodnight, thanks. I had a great time." I said as we walked up to my car.
"You're welcome, but there's one more thing I want to give you." He said smiling. He was holding my hand and I swear I could've melted on the pavement beneath me.
"What?" I asked although I kind of knew what it was.
He leaned in and his lips made contact with mines and just like that I never wanted this day to end. "Alright, Lil ma I want you to take it easy. Maybe we can meet up again if you want." He said as he leaned back. I was paralyzed, I hadn't felt like this since...since Tyrone.
He turned to leave as I got in my car and drove back home replaying the events in my head.
