PROLOGUE -- PETE

Ever since I was a small boy, I knew something was different about me. I didn't like football or monster trucks or anything like that. I wanted to paint my nails and grow my hair out.

So it wasn't some big surprise to me when I developed a crush on my best friend. My best friend, a boy.

My mother - the mayor - didn't have a problem with it, and neither did my stepfather. The only person that did have a problem with it, however, was my best friend himself.

Don't get me wrong, he's not homophobic or anything. He has a boyfriend himself and has for the past year and a half.

You can see where problems arose. So I did the one thing no one should ever do:

Try to make someone jealous.

Okay, that's not the one thing no one should ever do. Making someone jealous is, normally, not that bad of an idea. So let me rephrase that. I did the one thing no one should ever do:

Try to make someone jealous with the infamous bad boy, Patrick Stump.
