12:00am

A while has passed and Dustin still wanders around the cave looking for a way out. After walking through rocky terrain, he was finally happy to find wooden floors. Maybe this was a sign that he was close to the exit? As he moves around the wooden area, he notices a staircase. He quickly travels up it and takes a look around.

The first thing he encounters is a dark blue safe. Wondering what's inside, Dustin grabs a sharp wooden object from the floor and begins to try and pry it open. Unlucky for him, the wooden stick snaps, leaving him with a blunt end. Aggravated he throws it at the safe an the safe falls onto its back and swings open.

"Really?" He asks himself. "I hope this is worth it."

Dustin places his hand into the safe and grabs what feels like a handful of money. However, it's not money. Instead, its 30 clocking in cards. Dustin immediately realises that he has stumbled upon an old, abandoned mine. Deeming them useless, he chucks them away. Ding. Dustin hears the cards hit against something, he turns around and sees a framed photograph hanging on the wall. He steps closer and sees that it's a photo of a few miners sitting in a row. He then reads the engraving on the front.

'The successful rescue of all 12 miners trapped in the mining disaster of January 1952'

As he reads this, he realises something is wrong. In the safe he found 30 clocking in cards, however, here it says there was only 12 miners? What happened to the other 18?

Before he can question that anymore, he hears loud barking coming from behind then he twists around and sees two wild wolves heading towards him. He backs up against a wall and starts breathing heavily, who would have thought a brave guy like Dustin would be afraid of dogs?

"Good doggie." He says, trying to sneak away.

The dogs bark at him and begin to walk closer. Dustin raises his arm to grab his gun but the dogs don't back away, instead one of them goes over and licks Dustin's hand.

"Aww, you just wanted a friend." He says, stroking its head while also trying to avoid its teeth.

The other dog walks over and also licks Dustin.

"Okay, okay, that's enough now." Dustin calmly says, wiping his wet hand on his jeans. "Hey, do you guys happen to know the way out?"

The dogs don't respond. Dustin asks again but is cut off by a loud scream coming from deep within the cave. Both of the dogs begin barking and follow the sound.

"Hey! Wait!" Dustin shouts, but both dogs continue running. "Ugh great!"

Dustin sighs and continues the way he was going, hoping he'll find a way out. He walks back over to the safe to see if anything else is in there. It is mainly empty except for a few pieces of rock and a note. He carefully picks up the note and reads it.
