It was the sixth time we were ever seen out in public, as a couple. The first being outside of city hall when we got married. The second time we were at the light festival. We then were seen at the fancy restaurant Alex's friend owned. He visited Norman at pine view with me, which I found was very thoughtful of him. Norman and I... our relationship had changed drastically and Alex insisted on coming for support. Two days ago, I paid him a visit at work and delivered the lunch he forgot on the kitchen counter. I teased him about his frozen lunches and we had a short make out session. It has now been 5 weeks since we've been married and I already know how stubborn he can be. Although, being married to Alex has been sweet and never what I have ever experienced with my previous marriages. It was definitely not rainbows and unicorns, we had a couple of disagreements, but he ends up showering me with dozens of kisses and he'd apologize even if it was my fault. And finally, today, we went grocery shopping. Again, I never asked him but he simply wanted to.

"It'll be fun!"

"The big daddy of white pine bay thinks grocery shopping would be fun? Let me guess, the last time you went to the supermarket you neglected to walk into the fresh produce isle and went straight to the frozen foods section?"

"Actually, no!" He chuckled. "I bought some apples and went straight for the gourmet prepared frozen food."

"That's not healthy, Alex!" She was now concerned and he thought it was the cutest thing ever.

"And it would be."

"It would be what?"

"It would be fun with you"

Her cheeks got red and they finally arrived. Alex pushed the cart and Norma followed closely by his side. She was so nervous, for people talk in White Pine Bay. Their marriage was fairly new and it had gotten around town so quickly and she didn't like gossip. When they entered, a few people gave them quick glances and whispered, but that was it.

Alex was heading towards the frozen food section and Norma chuckled.

"Eh, no no no." She grabbed his arm and headed toward the fresh produce. Perhaps it was a part of the store he found unfamiliar and she intended to change his habits.

He actually paid attention to me. In fact, he knew what I liked and put them in the cart. It's been only 5 weeks and that, somehow, astonished me because I always cared for others. With Alex it was different.

"I know you like strawberries and wild berries. How many?"

She studied his face. " ehm... just, just a bag. It's just you and me."

He smiled.

When they got home, Alex and Norma started putting the groceries away. Suddenly, Norma interrupted the silence and excused herself for a few moments.

" I'll be right back, I'll be quick and start dinner."

"Everything okay?"

"Yeah, perfect" she released a nervous smile and pecked his lips.

She headed up the stairs and walked into her room. She found herself in front of her dresser and was wondering when the right time would be to give it to him. She opened it and searched for it. When her fingers finally touched it she smiled. She had butterflies in her stomach and put it in her pocket. She headed back towards the kitchen and found herself behind Alex. She wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his back. He gently turned around and faced her with a smile.

He gently pushed away her hair. "you're so beautiful, Norma." She smiled and pulled him closer for a short kiss. "I want to show you something... I've been trying to bring it up for weeks, but i haven't found the perfect moment."

He instinctively pulled her closer to him and rested his hands on her waist.

She reached into her pocket and pulled out the velvet box.

"I never got you one. That day."

He knew what she was talking about.

"I should have, but I forgot."

He looked at her appreciatively. "Norma—"

"We haven't been together long, but I– I love you."

"His cupped her cheeks and kissed her."

She pulled away quickly and said, "you haven't opened it!! Open it!"

He laughed and he did. She was so nervous. They both gasped. "It's perfect, I love it!" She took the box and carefully shimmied the ring onto his finger.

"What if I wanted to say No?" He teased.

"Oh shut up! If you did, it's too late! You're stuck with me." She joked and pulled his hands off  her rear. She intertwined their fingers together and smiled.

"I'm okay with that. Also, I love your food"

He guided her towards the edge of the counter and pinned her against it. She looked at him and let out a breath. She knew the look on his face and what he wanted, so she felt her cheeks getting hot.

"And your smile..." he kissed the edge of her lips."

"And the way your nose crinkles when you laugh" he kissed her nose

She couldn't hold back so she giggled

"And your beautiful blue eyes" he kissed her cheeks"

"And how you don't care what other people think" he kissed her other cheek

"I love how you always put people feelings before yours and how much you care for others."

And then the tip of her nose

"Yeah?"

"Mmhmm. But you have to learn to take care of yourself too."

She tilted her head to the side to give him better access

"I love the way your lips twitch when you're mad at me"

He went lower towards her breast. "And how your voice sounds when you sing on the piano."

She let out a breath when he reached her midsection. He grabbed her ass and pulled her closer.

"I love how breathless you leave me when we're so close. It's almost as if I can't breathe but it feels so good."

He pulled her skirt up

"And your tireless energy... especially in bed." He looked up and saw her mouth open." She jokingly slapped his shoulders.

"But mostly, I love you for being you, Norma Louise."

She raked her fingers through his hair and studied his face. She smiled and pulled him up for a kiss."

"Dinner can wait."
