Chapter 25

Audri's POV
Ethan grabs a wrench and I grabbed a screwdriver to defend ourselves. We start up the stairs slowly and quietly, Ethan in front of me. "Anna?" We hear Andrew call from upstairs. We stop and Ethan looks back at me and mouths "Don't move. Stand your ground." I nod and the door creaks open with Andrew standing in the frame.

"What the hell?!" He says before Ethan slams the wrench into his shoulder and Andrew ducks, Ethan missing his head by inches. Andrew glares at Ethan before landing a punch on his arm and I hear a snap. Ethan screams and I wince. He starts to fall down the stairs and I catch him and set him down on the stairs so he won't fall. Andrew lunges at me and I pull the screwdriver out from behind my back and stab it into his arm. He screeches and pushes me down the stairs with his remaining arm. All I see is the world running around me and a huge pain in my head before there is blackness.

Tyler's POV
I turn around expecting to see Audri but instead I see a man running away in the difference with something over his shoulder. "NO!! STOP!! GET BACK HERE!" I can only assume it's Audri over his shoulder. Mark and Jack stop running and turn around to see me running after whoever that person is. They start running too but it's too late. A black car peels down the street and we're no match for the high power engine. We all start freaking out.

"Is she gonna be okay? What's gonna happen to her? This is all my fault. Her parents are gonna kill me!! I hate myself. Why did I do this? She means so much. I can't lose her..." all come out in about fifteen seconds and I fall to the ground. Jack and Mark give me a sympathetic look and rush over to try and help me.

"Hey. It'll be okay. We'll find them."

Mark's POV
"Hey. It'll be okay. We'll find them." But I wasn't so sure of what I said. I was even freaking out on the inside. I just decided to be a man and not show it. I'm so worried for Ethan. Jack and I help Tyler up and get him into the house.

"If anything, it's my fault." I say, "I never should have run into the forest looking for Ethan. I knew I wouldn't find him. The same person who kidnapped him probably kidnapped her. They'll be o-" Tyler cuts me off. "Well Ethan wouldn't have gotten kidnapped if we didn't go to the god damn IHOP. It was my idea to go to the fucking place anyway. So yeah. Technically it's my fault."

"Guys! Guys stop. We can't turn against each other or blame ourselves. Let's just have officer Tori come by again and talk to her." We call officer Tori and explain what happened. "...and I really shouldn't have but I did. Audri, Jack and Tyler, being the good friends they are, came running after me. I didn't hear or see her fall. I didn't hear Tyler calling for us. I was just so caught up in trying to find Ethan. It was stupid, I know. I'm so sorry." I say apologizing to everyone.

"It's okay. They found some clues so hopefully we'll have Audri and Ethan back and the one or two people who did this in custody." Officer Tori says, comforting me.

That night I can't sleep. Tyler and Jack have gone to their separate houses and I start hearing noises.

Me: Jackipoo...
Jack: *eye rolling emoji* yes MARKIMOO?
Me: *laughing emoji* can you please come over. I'm scared.
Jack: Seriously?
Me: Yes...I'm hearing noises.
Jack: Fineeee. I'll be there in like twenty minutes.

Twenty minutes isn't so bad... Until the noises get louder. I get out of bed and lock my back door and all my windows. I go into my room and lock my door.

Me: text me when you're here. I've locked all the doors and windows I'm so paranoid.

Ten minutes go by without any noise. I sigh in relief when I hear my phone ding. I look and it's from an unknown number.

Unknown: *picture of unconscious Ethan and Audri*

I don't respond. I just lock throw my phone on the floor and curl up in a ball. Why are you being so childish? I'm jolted out of my thoughts when I hear another ding. I look at my phone.

Jack: Here!

I unlock my door and walk out. I slowly walk to the front door. I peer out through a top window and see Jack there. Thank god. My heart stops racing and I unlock and open the front door. I grab Jack and pull him in, slamming the door behind him.

"Oh wow. Are you okay? That was sudden." Jack says in his adorable Irish accent. "No!" I say and thrust my phone at him. He looks at the screen and gasps. I call officer Tori and she says she'll be here in about 15 minutes.

About five minutes later me and Jack are sitting on the couch when we hear pounding on the door. "That was fast. She said she'd be here in like fifteen minutes." Jack says and gets up to open the door. I start panicking and shout "No wait!!" Before running in front of the door.

"Chill out dude! It's fine." Jack says and looks through the top windows. From the light on the porch we can see a buff male standing there. He looks up because he sees Jacks shadow and smiles sinisterly in the light. As he holds up a phone, Jack gasps. "What?!" I ask right away. Jack locks the deadbolt and he pulls me into my room, turns off the lights and closes the shade. We sit in the corner of the room, huddled up next to one another for the next few minutes.

Suddenly there is a bright light shining into the room and a figure appears at the window.
