The rest of that day flew by really quick, I didn't really care. But in seventh. In seventh period, I had Jasper.
I sat my stuff down in an empty spot and sat down. I couldn't bear but take a sneaky little gander over at Jasper. He was engraving something in a desk with a pencil, his left leg having an uncontrollable shiver. He didn't seem to notice me, but he seemed to feel me looking, and smiled. What is up with this?
I shrugged it off and cast away my eyes to the front of the room. I watched Ms.Murphy walk to the front of the class and take a seat at her humongous desk. She gave me a quick smile, but began teaching. I was pretty good at math, I guess. I wasn't bragging about being an Elbert Einstein, but I was pretty good.
Then I noticed that Carson was also in this class! And Adam! Oh joy! I loved Adam to death already, not like LOVE love, but like as a big brother. He managed to catch my eye and waved. I waved back and provided a small wink, which he responded to with cocking his head back and laughing silently. I chuckled in my throat and returned to watching the teacher.
Carson was harder to get attention, he was really focused on the lesson, but when he finally saw me he smiled and gave a small gesture of a wave under his pencil. I smiled too.
Ms.Murphy was explaining some equations or something, and I couldn't get it. We were going to do our work, when Adam yelled out,
"Can we work in partners?"
Ms,Murphy stood still and pondered it, finally she agreed and I let go a sigh. I would just work alone because I only had the guys in here, and I predicted they would just work with guys.
Then I heard a chair swerve over to my desk. I looked up and saw Adam sitting there.
"I see you needed help." He said, looking up at my puzzled expression.
"How'd you know?" I asked, I didn't say anything.
"Your face said it all. I wanted to help, so I asked for partners." He claimed.
I smiled at how sweet he was, such a gentleman.
"Thank you!" I cheered, hugging him tightly. "You are a lifesaver." I added.
Adam just beamed widely and let go of the hug, which he had hugged me back in. "Okay, what number are you stuck on?" He asked, ready to help in a chipper tone.
I smiled and replied, "Four."
Adam sucked his teeth and inhaled, "That one's hard. But you'll understand once I help."
I smiled and went to the work. Adam gave me a useful explanation on it all, and suddenly, it was so easy. He helped me through the whole thing, not complaining once, that I was taking forever. Which I did a lot.
He simply sat there, and assisted me.
We got all of it done and turned it it, I hugged him again and whispered in his ear "Your amazing."
He smiled, and whispered back "I know." I then let go of our embrace and smacked him freely on his arm. He chuckled and walked off. By this time, everyone was looking at our scene, and most of them "Aw"ed. Ugh! I grunted and snorted and sat back down, crossing my arms. Why can't you just have one guy friend, without anyone thinking your interested?
I was about to let out a tantrum, but the bell rung, signaling it was time to finally be dismissed and GO HOME! I almost leaped out of my chair and hurriedly placed my things in my book-bag. I filed out of the classroom and went to the car-line, waiting for my mom.
She pulled up in her car and I hopped in, teling her everything about my day.
My mom was the best mom ever. She was my best supporter, best friend, and she understood me perfectly, just as any good mom should. She was a approximately 5'1", yes she was short, but she had such a big ambition. She was darker skinned and was very pretty, she had a perfect Duchess nose and deep brown eyes. She always had on the funkiest glasses, but she had an amazing fashion sense. She always knew what to say, and when to say it.
I told her every detail of my day and she sat there and in attentively listened to me. Giving an occasional nod.
"Well babe, just keep your head high, you confidence up, and show no mercy." She chuckled.
I smiled and looked at my mom. She was pretty, and I looked alot like her.
I just had to remember my mom's words, head high, confidence up, and no mercy.
