"See ya later, guys!" I yelled walking backwards from my friends as the first bell of the morning rang. I turned around just in time to see a waterfall of long blonde hair right before I ran into it. I heard a sharp whimper as her books jabbed her ribs before spilling from her arms as she hit the locker I had accidentally checked her into."Shit, I am so sorry," I immediately got on the floor and collected the books. "Are you okay?" I asked, standing up and looking into the eyes of the girl who skateboards up and down my street.
"Yeah," she replied, a pained look on the half of her face that wasn't covered by her hair.
I furrowed my eyebrows and held the stack of books out towards her.
"Here."
"Thanks," she said softly, receiving the books from me.
Her nervous behavior and refusal to make eye contact gave me the impression that she didn't want to stick around and chat, but because of my curiosity and my naturally friendly disposition I disregarded that.
I cleared my throat and took a quick breath.
"I'm Will."
"Carson." She gave me a weak smile. I smiled back at her boldly and we looked at each other for a second before she spoke.
"Well, I should, uh, go, cuz, the bell..." she trailed off.
I snapped out of my little trance, "Oh, yeah... Yeah. See you around, I hope?"
She nodded, gave me a quick smile, and was on her way. I then mentally made it my mission to befriend Carson.
