We walked through the parking lot toward his car, him dragging me behind him like a puppy dog on a leash. He led me to a truck that was, to my utter terror, surrounded by jockish, attractive guys.
"Hey, Bennett- oh, who's this?" a tall, blonde boy asked eagerly, raising his eyebrows.
"Down, boy," Will pointed at the guy. "This is my friend Carson. We're going on an adventure. I'll catch you guys later though."
One guy whistled and another opened the passenger door for me. I blushed, but rolled my eyes, getting into the truck.
The boys bid their goodbyes, bro-hugging and whatnot.
Will got into the truck, putting the keys in the ignition and starting it up.
"So we're friends now?" I broke the silence, "Because last time I checked, we just met this morning."
Will chuckled and glanced at me for a quick second before returning his gaze to the road.
"I guess you could say I'm ambitious," he shrugged.
I shook my head and laughed softly. "Where are we going anyway?"
"I'm not really sure yet," he tilted his head in thought, "I guess we're just gonna wing it."

We slowed down in front of a pristine-looking house on Willow Lane, the same street that I usually skateboard up and down.
Will turned to me and held up one finger.
"I'll just be a minute," he said, getting out of the truck and jogging into the house. He came back out, as promised, about a minute later but didn't make it much further than the welcome mat.
Holding a red leather leash, he tugged behind him harshly and a fat basset hound came into view. Will sighed dramatically and scooped (although with a lot more effort than the word implies) up the dog, struggling to carry it to the car. Balancing the rear end of the dog on his knee, he opened up the door to the back seat.
"This," he tossed the dog in and shut the door behind it, "is Humphrey," he said opening his door and getting back into the car, "and he needs some exercise."
