My head. I felt dizzy the moment I woke up. I placed my hand on my head trying to make it feel better but it didn't. Ugh. My head began to hurt badly. I shut my eyes and tightly squeezed my eyes. A growl from my stomach interrupted my sensation of whirling. I'm hungry. I was thinking of some foods when I decided to wash up before going downstairs.
I went to the bathroom. I undressed and opened the shower, letting the cold water stream down my face.
The images that flickered to my head yesterday kept on tormenting my mind like an incubus that keeps on chasing me nor never letting me go. I just let the water ran. I can't think straight.
I went to my closet after taking a bath and picked casual clothes, a white sleeveless dress that matches my porcelain skin, combined with a nude color of doll shoes. I put some foundation, a little blush on my cheeks to give color on my face and a light color eye shadow giving emphasis to my round brown eyes. Then I added some dark shade of red lipstick to complement my look. This should make me look presentable.
I grabbed my car keys and went out of my room. I was running down the stairs when the smell of butter that melts on top of the pancakes caught my attention. I smiled as I saw my mother in the dining room, confidently wearing her pink apron while preparing our breakfast.
"Good Morning, Mother." I greeted her with a bright smile on my face.
"Good Morning." She greeted back. She looks so happy, maybe because I can finally go to the Amore Designs.
I picked up the fork on the top of the table and shove some pancake in my mouth. I took a sip of warm coffee and gave her a kiss on her soft rosy cheeks.
"Bye, Mom. I love you."
But she suddenly grabbed my elbow. "Have your breakfast first, Sera. I've already prepared it for you."
"Mom, I'm already late for my appointment. I really have to go now." I said with an urgency.
"So you really decided to go with that company. That's great! It will be a great opportunity for you, honey. Take care, alright?" Then she kissed my forehead.
"Alright," I giggled. "I love you, Mom."
"I love you more." She smiled.
I rushed to my car and hopped in, then started turning the wheels around. I turned the radio on, the serene sound of classical music playing from the radio makes me feel calm, temporarily diverting my mind from the memories and thoughts I wish I don't have. Memories and thoughts that kept on bugging me.
My phone rang. I picked it up, flashing the name of my jolly friend, Bridget, on the screen. It made me confused. She rarely calls me this time around since she was busy organizing images that she has captured. I assumed that she just wants me to accompany and help her in her work. I answered my phone.
"Hey, Sera." She greeted with a lazy voice.
"Hi, What's up?" I replied.
"Do you mind going out on a date with me?" She asked.
Date? I chuckled. Maybe she already ran out of man to go out with.
"I can't, I'm on my way to Amore Designs."
"You mean; the only company you've been dreaming of?" She asked. It's as if she also knew that this is what I really want but I have no any idea about it.
"Well, yes." I jibed.
"Congrats, Sera! That company badly wants to talk to you, but you just kept on ignoring them." She replied.
As I have my conversation with Bridget on the phone call, I stopped the car when I heard a song that is very familiar to me.
Don't stand at my grave and cry.
