Sacrifices
Sacrifices are when you give yourself up for something else to flourish.

Aslan was a sacrifice, as he gave himself up, for the White witch, so that Narnia might still have a chance. The witch thought differently. When he would die on the stone table, she could rule the whole of Narnia.

The more power she had, the better for her, the worse for Narnia.

She knew all along that Aslan would give himself up for the last piece of hope. How stupid of him. She knew she just had to lure him into the perfect situation to surrender, to step down. Her first intention was to kill the boy-Edward, or whatever he was called. However, why kill him when she could use him to kill the grand prize. He and his siblings were the perfect opportunity for her to get to her rival.

It was night. Slowly the clock started ticking for Aslan's last hours. Aslan and Julia silently walked out of the tent.
They made sure no ome could see or her them.

However, their plan didn't not succeed. As their paws hit the ground, even though very softly, Lucy heard those crushing noises of leaves and grass being pressed on the ground.

She immediately flustered her eyes open, someone was walking outside. She heard the noises in such a sequence that she could recognise them as steps. She didn't know who or what was out there, she didn't dare to look by herself.

She decided to wake up her sister. Susan would know what to do.

"Susan? Susan, did you hear that?" She whispered, shaking her sister awake.

Susan slowly opened her eyes. The inside of the tent was pitch black as it was in the middle of the night. She yawned and thought about what Lucy asked her. What was she supposed to hear?

"Hear what?" Susan asked, still tired
Lucy heard the sound of crushed leaves once again and she shrieked. It seemed like someone or something was getting closer to their tent. Susan put on a small loght in the tent so she could see her sister. She now saw how nervous Lucy looked, even a little scared.

"Those noises! Someone is outside." Lucy shrieked, grabbing her small sword just to be sure. She was prepared to fight for her family, even though her hands were shaking as she didn't know what was out there. It could be the evil White Witch after all.

Then suddenly, as the sounds- which Susan now acknowledged to hear as well- approached their tent, the girls saw two shadows of lions.
Well, there was no doubt that would be Aslan and Julia.

"Those are Aslan and Julia." Susan whispered pointing at the shadows that went by the reflections of their tent.

"Let's see what they're doing outside." Lucy suggested. Susan had learned to listen more to her little sister, so she nodded. With still the sword in her hand, Lucy stood up and silently-carefully not to wake Edmund and Peter- exited the tent. Susan followed her right after, being just as careful.

The girls, who found themselves to be very curious, made their way to Aslan and Julia. However, they didn't want to interrupt whatever Aslan and Julia were discussing and therefore, they made sure to keep quiet and to follow quietly at a certain distance.

The girls didn't succeed in figuring out what was going on and why the lions were making this nightly walk through the fields, heading to the woods.

As their pace accelerated, they caught themselves being to close to the lions and were afraid to be seen. Susan saw an immensely big rock on the side of the way they were heading and pointed to it. It was pointy but wide enough for two people to hide behind it. Silently but quickly Lucy was dragged by her sister to hide behind that rock.
