Not a lot of time had gone by before complete silence had returned. The darkness of night shadowing over Aslan's body and the coldness all around made this night even more miserable then it already was. The moon was nowhere to be seen anymore, probably hiding out to avoid the tragic event that happened down on the lands of Narnia.

Once the beasts, who had the nerve to consider themselves Narniens, got bored by the lifeless body of the great cat, they left it to rot. They left him as he was nothing.
Aslan was treated like literal trash and for a moment it seemed as if no one cared.
He was killed without any sign of mercy.

The area was cleared out, no soul was left at the stone, just Aslan's body. Fog slowly creeped its way around the place, giving the sight an extra eerie look. Julia took her chance and immediately got up to run to her father. Not caring about any sudden danger she might encounter due to the lack of sight.
She lay beside him, tears streaming down her face. She felt as if someone was stabbing her, repeatedly pushing the knife in, turning it around and pulling it out, not killing her. It was the taunting pain of knowing that he wouldn't ever come back again.

"Ohh father! What have I done?!" She cries.
She truly felt it was her fault. She shouldn't have triggered that wolf, when she was still with Mr. Tumnus. He had warned her but still she decided to, stupidly enough, ignore him. She caused disruption in Narnia, awakening whatever was luring the Pevensie children to Narnia and making the cruel White Witch act worse. She put Narnia in a greater danger then it already was before. It was all her fault.

"Aslan, you have to come back, please. I can't do this without you! I can't live without you." She yells, but it comes out weakly, inbetween many sobs that escaped her body. Her heart ached so badly, there were no words to express how depressed she felt, and furious at the same time.

"How am I going to survive?" She shouts, looking up at the sky which was pitch black. Even though it wasn't possible, she hoped he would be up there watching her from his land.

"Dad... I love you." She whispered, her voice cracking. Big tears rolled out of her eyes, rolling off her cheeks, and falling on the cold stone ground. The dead, cold silence in the atmosphere being in such presence that the moment teardrops got in contact with the ground, it was almost as if bells were to be heard.

Then, just minutes later, what felt like a pair of two human arms wrapped around her body, she was hugged by someone.

She immediately turned around in shock, almost afraid someone would attempt to hurt her or Aslan. To her relief, she found Lucy and Susan. Their eyes were swollen and red, indicating that they had been crying as well.

Lucy let go of her while Susan still held on, hugging and comforting her quietly.
When both Susan and Julia looked up, they saw Lucy leaning in on Aslan.

She grabbing something from her pocket and as she did, she revealed her 'live saving' poison she had gotten from father Christmas, and opened it.

"Lucy... It's too late." Susan's voice cracking up. The girl had always been clever and wise. As she had always taken care of her little sister, she had no exclusion of having the urge to do so at this moment. Susan knew that that poison, as miraculous and beautiful it would be, would not save Aslan's life anymore. He has been gone for too long now to be saved by that poison. It hurt her to say it and it hurt her that it was a real realisation for the three of them that Aslan was not coming back anymore.
He is really gone.

The three girls sat around the lion as they cried for a long time. There was a complete silence, and no one around, except for their loud sobs that went into the night.

Then suddenly, Susan stood up. She knew they had to move on, and move fast. If she heard the witch correctly, then Narnia's army would be under attack tomorrow. She can not let that happen by surprise and therefore, the army needs to be alarmed as soon as possible in order to be ready for tomorrow. Even though she did not want to, she understood it was of great importance to inform the army. She believed Aslan would have wished for that to happen.

"Lucy, we should inform the army. We need them to be as prepared as possible. Let's give Julia and... Aslan some time alone, okay?" Susan grabbed Lucy's hand, who quickly got up her feet again, hugging Julia once more.
Susan wiped her tears away, she tried to manage this situation as best as she could while she was falling apart from the inside.

Susan and Lucy, hand in hand, walked away from the two lions, of which one was grieving the other. However, something magical and unbelievable happened.

They had not even gotten that far from the stone table, maybe only seven steps away, until they heard a very intense loud crack.

They both turned around, being shocked for the sudden sound and to their great surprise saw that the stone table was cracked in two pieces, out of nowhere.

The remarkable, concerning thing was that both Aslan and Julia were gone.
They had disappeared and were nowhere to be seen.

Lucy gasped and both girls ran to the huge stone. Their mouths wide open from complete utter as they had absolutely no idea what to do now.

Susan rubbed her eyes harshly, tears still brimming to spill.
Did that really happen?

Then suddenly, it was like the dark night took a break and the sky opened as if heaven had a breakthrough. A very bright ray of sunshine glistered through onto the stone table and against the girls' greatest beliefs, Aslan stood in front of them, at the end of the stone table.
"It can't be." Susan gaped as she felt like she was losing her mind. She had seen the great cat pass away by a cold-hearted witch and now there he stood, well and alive.

Even though a mix of ecstatic and confused feelings whelmed up in her, she missed something. However, it didn't take long for her to realise.
