You giggled a little at Gadreel's expression, staring around at all the red leaves. "What's the matter? Never seen autumn before?"

"Never like this?" He said with a small frown. "Why is it so red?"

You kicked a large pile of leaves. "It has always been like this, for as long as I can remember."

"You come here often?" He watched you curiously as you seemed to dance through the leaves.

"It used to be a yearly trip." You nodded. "Just before it got too cold, Dad would bring us out here for a weekend, and we would just run and play. We came up with so much out here..." You trailed off a little, your smile waning. "This is the first time I've been in a few years."

"I am sorry Y/N."

You look at him. "For what?"

"This place reminds you of your family." Gadreel said softly, wanting to go to you but not wanting to step out of place.

Your smile to him was soft. "It does, and they are all happy memories, which is what I needed." You nodded as if to confirm it to yourself. "Thank you for coming with me Gadreel, it means a lot."

"I wasn't expecting so much red." He looked around again, the red seeming to go on for miles.

You giggled. "No one ever does." Walking over to him, you took his hand. "Come on, I want to see if I can find the camping ground."

Gadreel let you pull him along, a soft smile reaching him as your energy buzzed around him, feeling your happiness.

A little while later, a squeal from you made him jump as you let go of his hand and dashed forward into a small clearing, the canopy of trees hang heavy over making it almost protected in its own.

"This is it!" You spun a little, your grin wide. "It hasn't changed." You walked over to a particular tree and rested your hand against it. "We use to climb this one all the-"

You were cut off as a large pile of leaves suddenly tumbled down onto you head, having been precariously balanced above.

It took a moment before the laughter started and you looked over at Gadreel, who was trying to hold it back, but as more leaves tumbled off your head, it broke free, filling the forest with the deep sound.

"Stop laughing," You pout, but it doesn't stop him. "I mean it."

Even as you fold your arms, Gadreel keeps laughing, buckling over.

"Gadreel."

"I'm sorry," He tried to say through the laughter. "But-but-" He broke into more laughter.

You couldn't help it, biting your lip to try and stop the smile from reaching your lips, but it was too much. Hearing the angel laugh was something you didn't get to hear too often, and it always made you feel giddy.

Your smile turned into a giggle and you bent down and grabbed a handful of leaves, rushing over to him and throwing it over him, making him pause for a moment before his laughter returned.

It was then that you were both laughing, throwing the red leaves at each other, and you knew that you would be more than happy to come back here every year as long as Gadreel was with you.
