Chapter 10- favourites

Today, Ebony, today I went to the shops. This morning I went to the kitchen to make breakfast and I had barely any food in the cupboard.

I can't remember the last time I went shopping.

You would always go shopping.

So here I am, pushing a trolley around the supermarket.

I have no clue what I am buying. I guess what ever looks good.

I come across some of your favourite foods. I almost went to buy them but realised, you were gone.

When I was buying the items the lady at the register noticed who I was.

"Aren't you the guy whose girlfriend was in that car accident?" she said. The way she said it sounded insincere but I knew she didn't mean it like that.

I nodded and continue to put the food items up. I tried to get out as soon as I could. I didn't want to speak about you dying.

To me you aren't dead.

Ebony, why couldn't you have just left me instead of leaving the earth?

If you left me I would have known where you are but you have left the world. I can't say you're still here, or that we broke up. I have to say she passed away. I have to say you died.

Ebony, I miss you so much!
