You choose to run to the left and you try not to let the futility of the struggle set in as you see nothing but locked doors and more hallways ahead of you. You feel like a rat in a scientist's maze. You slide your shoes off to muffle the sounds of your footsteps and to stop the trail of echoes billowing out from you in every direction. You are about halfway to the first corner when you hear movement behind you. There is not enough time to turn around before you hear the gunshot behind you.
Your body doesn't listen to you anymore and it collapses in on itself. You feel like your bones are made of origami paper and someone just tried to fold you into an impossible shape. You hear quiet footsteps behind you and the soles of their shoes make a small scuff sound on the tiles. They use one of their shoes to nudge you over on your side, to see your face.
You know that shoe. You know those eyes. But you don't know that expression.
You try to open your mouth, to try to stop him, but all you can do is watch the white spark at the tip of the handgun.
'Only a true coward is afraid of love.'
You died.
Respawn?
