it's impossible to love me if you can't tolerate me.
don't bow your heads for me.
don't cry to your god
and try to save me.
place your false coexistence in jars
right alongside the bibles
that belonged to your grandparents.
please reveal that your sinister
is compassion in disguise.
hold on to your sinister.
i got sinister following me
as i live openly
on sidewalks
and bus rides
and through people who call me a brother
but quote leviticus scriptures
a half conversation later.
stay at your pulpits
where i can't see you.
don't feed me your opinions
for i am allergic
and floating in my own freethought.
go ahead and preach your sermons.
i hope they are as long
as my fuck you finger
having a protest from a car window.
it's impossible to stand me if you can't understand me.
stay zipped up
in your lite brite robes
equally tailored to favor your bigotry.
you are ignoring my suicidal days
my self-condemnation
my being on your 6th row
listening to your tsunami of hate speech
in my sunday best.
your biblical interpretations made me
label myself a nasty abnormality
and it's the reason why
gay teenagers feel unloved
why gay teenagers are killing themselves.
what supposedly is your love
is a serial killer.
it's impossible to accept me if you tell me what i am.
so tell me that eve is better than steve.
yank off my earrings
and reconstruct my effeminacy/
make up excuses
and be scared of a changing world.
mourn for what you wanted me to do
for walking my own path
for a man someday placing a ring
instead of a woman.
repeat your amens
while still being blind.
