"Please I need to meet with your lawyer as soon as possible!" Kemi pleaded with Tracey who just laughed her off and continued picking out gowns from the rack.
"What's wrong with the lawyer mum got?"
Kemi frowned and followed her friend to the next rack. "She got Kunbi."
"So what is wrong with Kunbi? OMG! This is perfect!" Tracey gushed, as she pulled out a gown.
Kemi rolled her eyes as she absentmindedly shifted through the racks of gowns. "You said that for the other gowns in your hand and everything is wrong with Kunbi. I can't work with him."
"Why is that?" Tracey went over to look at purses and Kemi followed her best friend diligently.
"Because it is Kunbi."
"Awwn but 'team KK' was the best back in secondary school."
Team KK, meaning Kunbi/Kemi was the nickname given to Kunbi and Kemi because of their closeness back in school. People thought they were either dating or siblings but they were just best friends. Although they were in love, they never spoke about their feelings.
"Exactly! Back in secondary school. Right now, we are different people and we might not see eye to eye on issues."
"You will."
"I am not ready to find out."
"Is that what you are really bothered about?" Tracey said as she picked complementary jewelleries and admired a bracelet on her wrist. "I think this one will be perfect with the peach gown."
"Yeah Tray." Kemi rolled her eyes and Tracey smiled with a glint in her eyes.
"You didn't answer my question. Is that what you are really bothered about? That you both will not agree?"
Kemi knew the answer was a no. She was protecting her heart. But that was also a point of concern, so it wasn't a complete lie. "Yes!"
"Hmm!" Tracey dropped the purses and jewelleries before she headed towards the changing room. Kemi followed her once again.
"Kemi..." Tracey called from the changing room.
"Yeah?" Came Kemi's worried voice.
"Is that the only reason you are worried? I know you and I know that is not the reason."
Kemi quietly picked at her manicured nails when Tracey came out in a body fitting black gown.
"How do I look?"
Kemi cocked her head to the side. I like the fit but 'no' to the sleeves. They are hideous."
"I thought so too." Tracey bounded back to the changing room before coming out in a red dress that had a deep cut and revealed so much of Tracey's cleavage.
"Too provocative." Kemi said.
Tracey sighed dejectedly and entered back into the changing room.
"Why are you shopping again?" Kemi asked her friend.
"Because I have a dinner date tomorrow." Tracey replied, coming out of the changing room with a peach sleeveless dress, with a sweetheart neck cut that was fitted and stopped right above her knee. It has a small slit at the left side that revealed a subtle amount of her thigh.
Kemi's eyes popped "OMG! Why am I just hearing about this?"
"Calm down! He only asked me this afternoon."
"And who is this he?"
Tracey admired herself in the full mirror. "Some guy..." she blushed, knowing that Kemi will scream if she found out it was Bill, Kunbi's best friend since secondary school.
