Anna's POV
-
It's been an hour since we arrived home. And as I really think about it, I actually could've been hanging with Serena for that extra hour. I just left so fast. I sigh. I literally have been doing nothing since I got home..I then lazily walk out of the living room and my knees nearly wobble for the first couple steps. When did I become so weak? I could only frown.
It's been a long week and now all I want to do is sleep.. Is that so hard to ask for.
I walk over to the kitchen and spot my mom over the stove top cooking some pasta. "Hey mom," I force myself a smile. She looks over at me and shoots a warm smile back.
"Hey An, would you pass me that wooden spoon please?" She points over to the counter beside the glass vase of roses. "-uh, sure!" I walk over to reach it. I gazed at the dark shade of red, feeling a certain way. I couldn't explain it.
"Here you go," she takes it out of my hand. "..so how much longer do you think they'll be coming." I wondered.
She pauses for a moment in thought, "Well I just got off the phone ten minutes ago and they said not too long. So probably the most is another twenty minutes."
"Okay, um-" I then look outside the window and watch the trees dance in the forest. It gave me a idea. "Ok can you tell me when they come? I think I'm just gonna go outside for a bit." I tell her.
My mom raises her eyebrows, "What? Really? It's almost about to rain Anna." She points out. I just shrug anyway.
"I like the rain." I give a small smile. She chuckles, "Well ok. Don't be out for long." And as I begin to walk away my little sister Violet pokes my arm to catch my attention.
"Hey can I come too??" She asks curiously, and I look up at my mom as she was already staring. "-umm.."
"Sweetie I don't want you to get a cold just before your ballet show, so I think maybe another time would be better." My mom interrupts. Violet nods and huffs carrying her little scrap book.
I have two other siblings besides me, Violet, who is 7 years old. And a brother named Jake, who is 16, he doesn't do much honestly. I wouldn't be surprised if he'd sell his soul for video games either.
I again start to walk off and sigh as I got closer to the backdoor. As I was about to leave I grab my small coat and headphones. After finish putting on my shoes I just reach for the door nob and head out.
I felt the wind press up against my cheeks immediately. It's actually pretty cold outside. Well of course it is, it's December. I begin to make my way to the forest.
I live right beside a pretty medium sized forest, it's not big enough for anyone to get lost in but it's just enough to feel like you're not exposed by the world. It's like my secret hideaway.
I heard the branches and cold dry leaves crunch under my feet as I walked fast with my hands in my pocket.
I then almost trip as I heard a faint scream. Huh? What the hell was that? I turn around. I then look to find it's coming from the new neighbors house. It sure sounds like a argument.
I tilt my head and slowly trail towards the noise. As I got closer I was still in the forest area hiding cause I didn't want to be seen.
"Y'know what, I don't even know why you bother!" I heard a girl scream throwing her hands up in the air. What's going on.. I then get a little bit closer for perfect vision.
"Jenna, just stop it! You need to calm down." A guy spoke softly. He looked just as upset though. Their hair and clothes was all wet from standing outside.
