"So we're following him?" I stood behind Orion, cautiously following Silas.
"Pretty much." He stepped back and watched Silas knock on a plain wall. It opened shortly after and while it remained opened we stepped in.
"Only fit for two?" Orion made a face. We continued to look around, it was only dark and small until we seen a small light in the back.
As we approached there was a small comfort area, there were two girls sitting on a bean chair with a boy laying on another. One girl stood up and proceeded towards Silas, a mean look on her face. Almost approaching them to stop any conflict, she smiled upon seeing Orion and I and pointed.
"L-L-Lae?" Silas stuttered, shocked to see us.
With a nervous giggle, "Yeah. Hi." I muttered out.
"It's the new kid, nice to meet'cha!" The girl smiled at me taking my hand and shaking it with more force than I could handle.
"New girl?" The boy in the back rose up and looked over at us.
The other girl shoved the boy back into the seat, "Oh yeah, he's a freak. Ignore him. Komodoensis." They were twins.
"Komodoensis?" I repeated.
"Just call me Kotori, Komodoensis is too complicated. Can't understand why my dad even chose it."
"Luckily my mother named me more simply, Varanus. But Varano is acceptable." He introduced himself, a sweet aura surrounded him.
"Oh that's enough of that you," The other girl shoved him away. "I'm normal, my name is Essence Pyriel. Those two are Kotori and Varano Lizarys." I tried to take the names in and looked back at Orion.
He simply didn't care.
"I'm Lae Larkin." I introduced myself.
"Are you okay?" Silias came back frightened.
"Um yeah, I feel great."
"Are you sure?"
"Should something be wrong with me?"
"Actually yeah, there should." Essence said examining me. "Those two are Lizarys, don'cha know how dangerous being that close to those two are?"
"I did." Orion said. I noticed his distance.
"I'm quite surprised actually." The twins crept closer. As I stepped back into Orion he tensed up.
We began backing up slowly but progressively. "Surprised?" I gulped hard.
"Your types are strange, like if we bit you!" We jumped. "You'd be paralyzed actually." The sweet scent filled the room as the twins crouched down.
Orion took hold of my hand. "Lae! Run! Run!" We dashed for the door still open.
"What's going on?" I questioned, tears fell because of my confusion.
"I'll explain later just get out of here!" I slipped running but didn't stop running for my life. It was scary to see Orion scared if this was it.
I felt a scratch, a pinch, and the door suddenly slammed. We were back in the hallway, panting heavily until I heard a drop. I looked down and my arm was oozing.
"Can you not hurt yourself?" Orion sighed and rushed me back to his room, along the way I heard something about my room not being safe?
"I hate Lizarys I swear!" He complained throughout the process of cleaning and wrapping my arm. I only stared at the decorations of Orion's room, getting dizzy if I tried to focus on too many things.
After he finished tying the wrap I decided to question, "Lizarys?" and waited for an answer.
"Lay down." He shoved my head onto his pillow, it oddly smelled like lavender. It felt nice.
"I'll explain it to you after we get the medicine in you." He pulled out a glass vial filled with blue liquid. The color made my eyes sting so I pressed my face in his pillow more.
"Lae! Drink this!" He tried to force me to drink it but I kept my mouth shut. "If you don't drink this you won't be okay!" He shouted and I looked up at him.
I couldn't bear the thought of what he said being said pointless, but I felt horrible looking at the medicine. It was almost as if it was telling me not to drink it.
Orion sighed. "Please don't make this awkward." He drank the medicine himself and pulled my face towards his. Looking away I forcefully swallowed the medicine, it wasn't bitter nor sweet. It made my body tingle and my brain tired.
"You're such a kid." He rubbed my head. "Just... go to bed. It's been exhausting for us both." And to that I fell asleep quickly, feeling somewhat safe.
