"Come on, it's really easy." Blake encouraged, holding his arms out to me.
"Hell no, I don't wanna break my ass." I cried, my voice raising in pitch.
Blake's mouth became a thin line and I could see him trying to play the role of the sweet and encouraging boyfriend who was now disapproving of my cowardice. I caught his lips twitching a few times though, threatening to break out in laughter at me.
"Just come into the rink."
"No."
"Elisa?"
"Yes?"
"Stop being a chicken."
"I like chickens."
"Chickens are stupid."
"I'm stupid, then."
"Is this really so scary for you?"
"My feet hurts."
"Loosen the shoelaces."
"I feel like a penguin on heels."
"Good to know, now get your ass in here."
"I told you, I don't wanna break it - Eeeeeeee!"
My blood curdling scream rippled through the air as Blake heaved me up and threw me over his shoulder. He skated nonchalantly to an isolated corner and placed me gently on my feet, his hands on my hips to steady me.
"You idiot! You jerk! You.. you!" I exclaimed, my voice rising higher and higher.
He starter chuckling and that only got me to fume even more than I already was. I slapped him with my hands, my fists punching his rock hard chest.
"You... you!" My mind was reeling of more insults but I came up with nothing.
"You know you love me." He continued to chuckle and pulled me into a hug, my head leaning on his rumbling chest. My cheeks were as red as a tomato now.
"Now c'mon. Let's skate." Blake released his grip on me and tugged me forward by holding my hand. I immediately shut my eyelids, not wanting to see. If I was going to crash, taking away the sight would take away some pain, right? I could feel my feet gliding me across the ice but m body was rigid. In fact, I felt like I had just come out of a Tom & Jerry episode. I must have looked ridiculous, trying to not move at all but gliding across the ice like a statue on wheels.
"Open your eyes."
"No."
"Please?"
I groaned. Blake's soothing voice convinced to reluctantly open my eyes and when my eyelids fluttered I saw Blake's handsome face in front of me. He was skating backwards while holding my hand.
