Two weeks have passed and Tyra and I have become good friends. I hope I just won't be put in the friend zone for long. But it's time to introduce another character. His name is Kyle. He's been my archenemy since the 1st grade. Every girl I ever get close to he wants. Every girl I talk to he asumes I like and asks her out. He's a nasty little bastard.
While DeAndre, Lilah, Chad and I were walking to school, Kyle catched up to us. "Hey Lilah." he says. "Wassup." she replies. DeAndre balls up his fist. "Now DeAndre. Don't do anything stupid. Just let him have his moment." I whispered to him. "You know it's rude to whisper." Kyle says. "Listen Kyle. Why are you even talking to us. We both hate each other." I say to Kyle the nicest way I can. "Hate is a strong word. Why not use the word dislike." he says trying to be funny. "No the word hate fits better." I snap. "Umm you guys. Lets not start. Let's bring up a different subject." Lilah says trying to break an upcoming fight.
"Yeah babe. I agree." Kyle replies. "Okay that is it. I'm going to kick his ass!" DeAndre says. DeAndre raises his fist and swings. I catch it just before it reaches Kyle's face. "Look Kyle. Maybe you should run along before you get hurt. DeAndre ain't nothing to play with." I say hoping I scared him. "Fine. I got the reaction I was looking for anyway." He says while laughing.
He walks away. "You're a fucking asshole!" Lilah yells as Kyle walks away. "That's right baby." DeAndre says. I laugh. So we get to school and I spot Tyra. "Well I'll see y'all later. I'm going to talk to Tyra." I say walking away. "Goddamn Robby. Give the girl a break. She's talking to Kyle anyway." DeAndre says. I look over at Tyra and she's laughing harder than she usually does with me.
I walk over there. "Hey tyra." I say while giving her a hug. "Hey Robby. Me and Kyle were just talking about you. He was telling me about how good of friends you were. I never knew that! I thought you guys hated each other." she says. "Umm yea. We've known each other for a very long time." I reply. She smiles. "We should all get together and see a movie or something." Tyra said.
"That would be lovely Ty." Kyle said looking at me. Did he just call her Ty. I call her Ty. "It really does. We'll plan it later." I said. "Do you want me to walk you to class?" I ask her. "Oh sorry. Kyle already said he'll walk me to class." she said while Kyle pulling her away. "Ok well. I'll catch ya later?" I yelled. I walked to class all bummed. "Hey man what's up with you?" DeAndre said.
"Nothing." I said.
I walked into the house and slammed the door. My dad walked out of his bedroom. "Oh hey Rob. How was your day?" He asked. "Perfect." I said. "Just perfect." I begin to walk up the stairs. "Is anything the matter?" my dad asked me. "No. Thanks for asking." I say walking up the stairs. I enter my room and collasps on my bed. Today has been a long day. Especially when loosing your girl might be at steak.
I pulled out my cell phone and dialed Tyra's number.
Tyra: Hello.
Me: Hey is this Tyra?
Tyra: This is she. May I ask who's calling?
Me: Oh sorry. This is Robby.
Tyra: Oh hey Robby. Whatcha doing.
Me: Trying to get the courage to do something.
Tyra: What is it?
Me: Ok. Here it is. I want to ask you on a date.
Tyra:............
Me: Umm hello?
Tyra: I'm here.
Me: So. What's your answer?
Tyra: Umm. Yea. Let's do it on Saturday at 8 o'clock.
Me: Okay.
Tyra: Bye Robby.
I hung up the phone. I can't believe she said yes. Hell yea! She said yes! This is fucking awesome. Man I owe a lotta money to the swear jar.
Kyle didn't get my girl this time. He gotta let go of a thing called hate.
