~chapter 7~

All through school I couldn't stop thinking about the text I got last night. How did they find out my secret? Will they tell? Who is this person?

At lunch I go to sit alone in the corner, like I usually do. But there's someone already there. Who would want to eat the corner by themselves? Other than me.

"Excuse me?" I manage to get out, still in shock that there might be someone who understands me.

"Yes?" She looks up from her plate of food on here lap. She has short light brown hair that's parted down the middle, and bright blue eyes. No makeup, she's all natural.

"Why are you sitting alone?" I ask.

"Why do you care?" ok, harsh.

"Well, I usually sit back here alone, can I join you?" I'm trying to be polite. Which I really hard when I want to smack this chick in the face.

"I'm Tess" I say after moments of silence.

"Allison" she reaches out her hand to shake it and I do.

"So, Tess, is that your brother over there?" She points to josh. Great, now she's gonna be like 'OMG he's hot'. Nasty.

"Sadly yes."

"He's annoying" she blurts out. Now I want to hug this girl, instead of smack her.

"Yeah, he is. If you don't mind by me asking, are you new here?" I say back. I'm pretty sure I've never seen this girl before, so unless I'm that non observant, she's gotta be new.

"Yeah, I moves from Vermont over winter break." She replies.

"Why would you want to come to Kansas, it's pretty boring here."

"My dad had his job moved here, I move around all the time" she says.

"Oh."

I don't think I should get to close to those girl, since she moves around a lot. But she's also the first person to talk to me and not make fun of me in three years.
