~chapter 4~

After the holiday season people don't think it's winter anymore, like there's no more snow, no more cold. When in reality we have to deal with that for almost three more months. It pretty much sucks.

I take a look at the clock beside my bed on the dresser and it reads 9:32. I didn't think I had been up here that long, but time flies when you're just on your phone going though twitter. My brown thin hair is up in a messy bun, I hate having it down. But my bangs fall onto my face, covering up half of my eyes. I usually just bobby pin them back, and when I don't, people notice.

I hear my bedroom door open and I look up slightly to see who it is.

Dad.

I knew he'd come up here sometime, I just didn't think it would be now.

"Hey Tessy bear" he coos. He hasn't called me Tessy bear since I was eight, and now I'm 14, I know what's going on. He's gonna talk about how he lost his job but I shouldn't worry because everything is going to be ok, blah blah blah.

"Dad if you're going to comfort me about anything, you don't need to." I retort looking back down at my phone.

"Actually I wanted to say something else," uh oh...something's not right here.
