A/N: Decided to change a few things. Instead of putting specific dates, I will only indicate whether the events are set in the past or in the present, since I have forgotten how the dates work in this story. In addition, since this story started two years ago and waaay before the recent elections, certain individuals have retained their government positions.

I greatly appreciate all of you who read the previous chapter, you guys have been patient. You're the best!

Present

The president and his Secretary of Defense were looking through the evidence presented in front of them, the perpetrator was still at large and for Digong, catching him was his top priority. He had to meet the defense secretary to ask for updates since he had been informed that there was a new development to the case.

"Meron lang akong hindi maintindihan," Delfin said, as he and the president continued to scrutinize the contents of the package containing the recently obtained evidence.

"Tungkol saan?" Digong looks at him.

"Nung nakita namin yung bankay nung gun man, nasa likod ng ulo niya ang tama ng bala." The defense secretary had a hand on his chin as he remembered the strange detail that stood out to him during the autopsy.

The president immediately got hold of what the other man was saying and looked at Lorenzana who was still deep in thought, "Paano niya naman magagawang tamaan ang sarili niya sa likod?"

"'Yun na nga," Delfin said. "Imposibleng pinatay ng gun man ang sarili niya. There was someone else there that night. May taong sinigurado na kahit na yung gun man mismo, hindi makakapagsalita kung sakali man na madakip siya."

The new information was alarming, and for a moment, the two men just stood in silence. Their minds, although old with age, were still sharp from all of the problems they had to deal with while running a country. They thought and did decisions while trusting each other's competence and intuition.

"Tingin ko buhay pa ang taong pumatay sa gun man," Digong replied after a long pause. "Imposibleng hindi."

The defense secretary nodded in agreement.

"Kung 'di nga lang siya nagkamali sa pagtama nung bala, baka nakumbinsi na kami na pinatay talaga ng gun man ang sarili niya," Delfin supposed.

"We need to capture that man." The president spoke with conviction. He felt impatient to get to the end of this. Every day it feels as if they were letting the perpetrators slip further and further from their grasp while Leni's life was slowly ebbing away. He could not stand idly while thinking of how unjust the whole situation was for her.

Earlier that morning a package had come in containing a gun. They were surprised at the appearance of the evidence since not even the men searching the crime scene were able to find the murder weapon. Although the bullet they had taken from Leni's wound was enough to identify the weapon, the weapon itself had not been found in the scene of the crime. Bongbong Marcos had really been investigating on his own. The package contained a note from him as well, indicating that what the weapon had been used for.

"Sa tingin mo siya kaya ang may pakana?" Delfin asked as he pointed at the picture that accompanied the package.

Aside from the note, a picture of a man holding the very same weapon was also enclosed and so was a picture of Aquino and this man playing golf and having dinner together with some other acquaintances.
